On December 8, 2015, I received a checklist by email. The email said that I need to provide a police certificate for my wife. The email also said I need to provide a supporting financial evidence. The email clearly states that not to send any missing supporting documents to NVC. The email clearly states that to send the missing supporting documents to the principal applicant so that he or she can take them to the visa interview. The email also says that NVC will schedule the case for an interview.

On January 30, 2016, I received an another email from NVC. This time the email says to submit the requested information on the checklist to the NVC to continue processing.

I am very confused. Should I wait for an interview letter for my wife so that she can show the missing documents at the US Embassy in Riyadh. OR should I submit the missing documents to NVC?

Usually checklists are sent separately per issue. So did you get one email/checklist for the financial evidence and one email/checklist for the police cert? The checklists are standard issue so they're not written to address/fit you, which means that if you get more than one checklist, they can be very contradictory. One checklist might tell you to bring one thing to the interview while another checklist can tell you to send something to NVC for them to continue processing your case. You have to look at the checklists as separate entities.

Hello mallafri76

Thanks for the quick reply.I only received one email on December 8 which stated about the police certificate and supporting financial evidence. I have attached the pdf document which I received on December 8th. After receiving the first email on december 8 2015, I got excited and was waiting for the appointment letter in the email or mail. Then on January 30, 2016, I received another email with no attachment, just a regular email saying this :

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: xxx filed by xxx on behalf of xxx.

We received all required fees for the applicants.

A letter was sent to the agent of choice or attorney of record indicating the Immigrant Visa Application and/or civil document requirements for this case are incomplete. Please submit the requested Immigrant Visa Application(s) and/or civil documents, as indicated on the checklist. The requested information must be submitted to the NVC for this file to continue processing.

Please visit the following website for Immigrant Visa Application and civil document processing instructions:

http://nvc.state.gov/260 for English or http://nvc.state.gov/260/espanol for Spanish

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

Case Number: xxx

Petitioner's Name: xxx

Principal Applicant's Name: xxx

Preference Category: xxx

Your Priority Date: xxx

Foreign State Changeability: xxx

Invoice ID Number: xxx

xxx

From my understanding from the first email is that, I am supposed to mail the missing documents to my wife and she will bring it to the US embassy on her interview day. Am I right?

Yeah, the checklist from December says to bring it to the interview. Regarding their email in January, is that a reply to an inquiry you've made about your case? Did you email or did an online inquiry about your case some time before December 8th? Their response time on emails can be up to 90 days.

I did not made any inquires about anything. After December 8, I received the 2nd email. Between December 8 and Jan 30, I did not made any inquires. No, I did not email or did an online inquiry even before December 8. I did an inquiry a long time ago maybe like last summer but I did receive the reply already in summer.

Sounds like a typical NVC mess... <_< The email now in January says that they received your inquiry, so it's sounds like they think they're replying to an inquiry from you.

The interview's in Saudi Arabia, right? Looking at Dwheels' thread, it seems that interviews are being scheduled in about a month for that country. You're coming up at two months so it might be time to call NVC and see if you can get someone who can give you some answers.

Okay the first one was for the police certificate and AOS. Bring that to interview. The second one was for the DS-260 which is the visa application. Has the DS-260 been submitted?

Yea, it sounds like I sent them an email earlier and they are replying to my email. Yes, the interview is in Saudi Arabia. Yup, I am going to call NVC today. Lets see what they say.

why not just call the Nvc to be sure of what to do

I will be calling NVC today.
