1) The biometrics (fingerprinting) appointment is sent in a separate letter one or two weeks after the initial receipt notice.

2) Is there a number that starts with NBC*? That's your case number. You can use it to set up an account on USCIS and to turn on notifications about your case. If there's no such number on your letter, call USCIS to inquire. You may not be able to get very far on the phone without a case number, so you may have to visit them in person.

Just a thought: If you don't have an NBC* number and you can't get help on the phone, you may want to wait two weeks and see if the biometrics letter arrives; that may have your number on it.

Thanks very much.

The receipt notice never mentions biometrics. Your letter is exactly like everyone else's.

Your NBC* number is your case number and you'll get your bio letter soon.

At the bottom of the receipt notice, it says that you'll be scheduled for an interview once the required background checks are completed. Those background checks include your biometrics, even though it doesn't specifically mention biometrics.

hi

the biometrics are separate, that's just the receipt notice with your case number

the wait depends on where you live, it can be weeks, it can be months, since the process can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months

Based on my experience (please see my case status progress in my signature) your biometrics appointment letter would be sent to you 2-3 days after you receive your I-797C by regular mail (USPS).

I called to USCIS and they told me biometrics appointment letter was sent to me on February 27, 2016 and they told me my date and time and place for my biometrics.

I hope it helps.

P.S. I have not got my biometrics appointment letter yet.
