AOS Pending, wondering about doing my taxes?

My husband worked in The Netherlands until April 2015, he moved to the U.S. on his K-1 in May, and we were married in July. I'm wondering how this will factor in to our taxes?

Here are some other points to consider:

He has a bank account in The Netherlands (less than $10,000)
He did not work in the U.S. during 2015. (He received his EAD in November.)
He has a Social Security Number.

Are there other points I need to consider? Does anyone have any advice for us as we prepare to file? What other things, if any, do we need other than my W-2's and my 1098 from school?

Thanks in advance!

FYI, There is a tax treaty between the US and Netherlands, so they will have access to most financial info in both directions.

He will still have to file in Holland (and if he doesn't, he should still run the program) There is a good change he'll get money back from the dutch government.

I was unaware of the treaty. He was still planning to file in Holland, as well, since he worked from January-April 2015 before moving to the States in May. He received his EAD in November but did not begin working in the States until January of this year. I'm just wondering if we need to claim his income from the Netherlands when we do our taxes here in the States, even though he had no income from May-December.

Sorry, can't help you there. There is a stipulation in the dutch rules that you only get taxed in one country, but that assumes you have income from Holland while living in the US. The dutch filing program is not online yet, but when it does become available, just have him fill it in without doing the actual filing. It's pretty decent and should have all the available options.

We are running into the same question, but we are filing jointly. I figure if we are able to do the visa stuff without a lawyer, we should be able to figure this out.
