2 months isn't long enough. And if she has a loan on her money that's not an asset. You have to be able to withdraw that money within a year. And if your joint sponsor is short $7000 they have to have 3 times that in the bank so $21000 is needed. **Sorry correction that's 5X so $35,000 they have to have in assets.** Thank you JFH. :goofy:

You need another joint sponsor.

Or have they done their 2015 taxes yet? How does they look does it meet the guidelines? You could just wait another 3 to 4 months letting them gain 6 months at new job and than it looks better. Remember its all about job history and they want to make sure they are going to stay at job throughout the 10 years of the obligation of the AOS.

You can have a household member of the joint sponsor. You can't have another separate joint sponsor.

The assets from someone who is not your spouse have to be 5 x the 125% poverty level requirement.

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

If you are getting a sponsor ... He will need to fill out an entirely new I864 as a joint sponsor to go along with the I864 that you provided. A few of the things you listed, like Driver's license, SSN are not going to help ....

It also depends on what the letter said that you received from the NVC on what you needed to submit, but if you are insufficient in funds, then you will need a joint sponsor, which requires that person to also file a I864. P

Please note that the combined incomes will now be used toward a count of your household number ... PLUS the household number of the joint sponsor.

Your household number will be 3, you, your stepdad, and your wife. If you have any children whom you live with, they will count as well.

As far as the cousin, I'm not quite sure if you will need to notify NVC that you don't want to use the cousin anymore and then resubmit using your stepdad's information ... I'm sure you do not intend to have both your cousin and stepdad be joint sponsors at the same time. That part is beyond my knowledge ...I

My gut feeling would be to call the NVC and inquire.

If the NVC said that your application was denied, then resubmit your I864 over again along with the new joint sponsor's I864. If you just received an RFE, then I think you can just submit the I864 from your stepdad.

I would wait and see if anyone else responds to this post to get better clarification and advice, but with my experience, that is what I'd do if no one else responded.

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

We reviewed the Affidavit of Support documentation you sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines, it does not appear you or any of your sponsors meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. To avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and provide it to the intending immigrant to submit at their interview. At that time, a consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement.

To view the current poverty guidelines, go to http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf.

For tips on completing Form I-864, go to http://www.uscis.gov/forms/tips-filing-form-i-864-a with other iterms they ask us to submit
