K1.......What's next after receiving case number

You guys have been so great that You guys VJ members have beeen my cheat sheet trust me, thank God I didn't go for that lawyer ####### thing. I wanted to know what's next after receiving NVC case number?How long should my fiancée, Angel, will have to wait to receive packet 3-4? She's in Haiti by the way and I'm in NY. B)

K1 process

1-25-07 :I-129F package sent

1-29-07 : I-129F package received

2-02-07 : NOA1 received in snailmail

2-16-07 : NOA2 Approved (online)

2-19-07 : touched

2-23-07 : NOA2 received in snailmail

3-1-07 : NVC Case number given in snailmail

4-19-07 : Received packet 3 from consulate

4-26-07 : Packet 3 sent back to consulate

5-16-07 : Medical appointment done

5-30-07 : Received packet 4 from consulate

7-18-07 : Medical exam to be re-done (was incomplete)

8-29-07 : Interview Appointment = Co-Support requested :'(

9-04-07 : Co-Support sent to Haiti

9-10-07 : wrong form was sent (consulate admited their mistake)

9-11-07 : sent correct form

9-13-07 : Visa approved

9-20-07 : pick-up visa with passport - Visa received

9-24-07 : Arrived to New York City

10-01-07: Apply for Social Security

10-09-07: Received SSN in snailmail

AOS process

11-02-07: Got Marriage licence

11-12-07: Got married

12-08-07: I-485, EAD (renewal) sent

12-17-07: NOA1 for both

12-31-07: RFE (forgot to send my W2 only)

1-05-08 : Biometric appointment

1-30-08 : AOS Interview setup for March in snailmail

1-31-08 : AOS Interview canceled in snailmail

2-19-08 : EAD (renewal) card in hand

4-23-08 : RFE sent

5-18-08 : RESIDENCE CARD ARRIVED w/o an interview

I-751 process

2-09-10 : Package sent

3-08-10 : They have extended Green Card for an extra year in snailmail

3-23-10 : Biometric appointment

4-29-10 : New RESIDENCE CARD ARRIVED (valid 10 years) w/o interview

It varies by country, yet you should expect to wait 7-10 days for NVC to acknowledge the submission.

Sit back and relax. Your petition will now process quickly, unless there are issues.

You might not have noticed it..I know I didn't for a while - There is an Embassy Info Section (above) - when you go there, you can find 'your' embassy. There are links for information and reviews etc. Many people often write reviews of their packet 3 and interview session there - it's great because it is specific to the embassy you're going to deal with. Since each can vary..

Case Number assigned at NVC August 29, 2006 MNL2006XXXXXXXXX

NVC sends the I-129F to the Manila Embassy August 29th, 2006

Embassy in Manila Receives I-129F August 31st, 2006

Packet 4 Received by Melinda from Manila Embassy October 1, 2006

Interview at Us Embassy Manila, October 18, 2006

Visa Approved! Interview Completed.

Visa Delivered by DELBROS October 28th, 2006

October 30, 2006 Arrived back in LAX with Melinda, were going to Disneyland!!!

November 6th, 2006, Melinda and I are back home in Winslow Arizona loving Life!

I sent mine in a week after you and haven't got my NOA1 in the mail yet!?!?!?!

You havta be VSC and therefore get no encouragement from us jealous CSC filers. (just kidding! :innocent: )

I read that you are now out of Homeland Security's USCIS and into the Dept. of State. If I have that right, you should move along at a fast clip (compared to us CSC folks anyway).

2-6-07 NSC received USPS mail, NSC then to CSC

2-15-07 NOA1 -file received

2-16-07 check cashed

2-23-07 touched

5-4-07 NOA2 approval -email

5-13-07 sent cancellation request letter

6-7-07 we're going to retry with a K-3

8-6-07 married in Thailand (dual language, dual representation prenuptial)

8-7-07 sent K3 from Bangkok

9-10-07 I-130 NOA1, (received at CSC 8-9-07)

10-9-07 sent I-129F to CSC

11-1-07 touched I-130

requested consular processing I-130 (http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/PN_i-129f.pdf)

9-13-07 I-129F for Spouse arrived CSC via USPS return rcpt. requested

4-1-08 NOA2 for K3 (I-134 supposed to be processed but processed I-129F instead)

7-11-08 interview Bangkok, passed.

7-16-08 POE arrival, 2 hours in Seattle Customs.

AOS I-486 sent 4-4-09

AOS NOA1 4-13-09 for all; I-485, I-131, I765

RFE 4-27-09 Thai official document in lieu of original Birth Certificate not sufficient???

Infopass appointment 5-26-09 at USCIS. Officer thought our doc was valid and doesn't know why the RFE.

7-28-09 EAD and AP sent

Social Security card 8-4-09

interview 9-10-09

10 year green card expires 9-17-19, Permanent Resident Card.

Resident since 9-10-09.

Timeline

NVC will send you a letter. They will send it on the your consulate/embassy. Once there, the beneficiary receives packet 3. Read the guidelines and check out info about your embassy to see what the latest is there. For example, where we are, we don't need the affidavit of support. Check it out.
