3 1/2 Years all over again except Snowmageden!

So, 3 1/2 years ago we had the Hurricane that hit the East Coast and pretty much shut every airport down. Happened to be the same time I was going overseas to meet my fiancee for the first time. It was an insane adventure that week, but I was with a friend and one of the most memorable trips he and I ever had, especially the fact I made it on time (due to the fact we pulled many shenanigins which in itself is another story) and met her which made everything worth it. Now we have snowmageden coming and of course, I am supposed to leave Sunday so I can be there for her interview. She seems to think this is a test from God as was the Hurricane. I love God but really don't need any more tests...lol... So calling today to see if I can cancel my "free" ticket and get a new one to leave earlier. Anyone else in the same boat? Wish me luck!

Keep us informed. I almost missed a trans-pac flight due to maintenance but never tried to fly in a weather snafu. Good luck.

At least for a USEM interview it's not the end of the world if you're not there.

I hope everything goes okay for you and you make it to your fiancee's interview. Funny thing is I am also heading to the Philippines a week from Monday to get married. I am flying out of Chicago and I hope everything goes smoothly with the weather because I only have 2 weeks off work and every day counts. I might not be able to see my fiancee again until she gets her visa and comes to the US because it will be hard to get time off work. Anyways I wish you luck in your travels and I hope the interview goes well.

As long as the wedding isn't scheduled for a day after your planned arrival you'll be OK. Even if Chicago should get snowed in, I would think most of the cancellations would be worked out within 3 days or so. If, God forbid, that comes to pass, plead your case with a gate agent.

The wedding will be almost a week after I get there so that wont be an issue. But every day I have there counts because chances are I wont get any more time off work (long enough to go to the Philippines) until next year. It would be nice to go back for the interview (if it happens yet this year) but the way things are at work it will be hard to convince my boss to give me more time off. The only reason I have time off now (durring the busiest time of the year) is he knows I'm getting married. I asked for 3 weeks but he only gave me 2 lol.
