Hi everyone. Finally my interview is set. However, I am nervous. I need some advices,. How do you think it'll turn out in the embassy Manila. Please I need an encouragement. :|

Our journey:

September 2007: Met online via social networking site (MySpace); began exchanging messages.
March 26, 2009: We become a couple!
September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Interview is all of 3-5 minutes, mostly they ask about your husband your knowledge of what where he lives, where he works, how many times he has been in the Phils, have you met his family... things like that. As long as your relationship is genuine it will be a breeze... relax.

They pretty much have their minds made up as to the approval of your visa before you even enter the window. The reason for the interview is to tidy up some "house keeping" as what Hank said. The biggest answer from you to them is your relationship genuine and if so then APPROVED. Of course if they know your dark secrets they will ask more questions but usually not. Your in and out of the interview face to face portion in under 5 minutes.

Just relax. You'll find most CO's are friendly especially if you are friendly.

the questions are very easy and everything you already know - as hank mentioned. Just relax and listen attentively.

There was one guy there being petitioned by his wife, He was grilled by the CO. He was asked why it took them 2 years to petition him, where does she live, what she do, does she have her own house or living with her parents, asked if those brother/ sisters/ parents were working. They are just verifying the relationship including timelines and of course making sure that you will not be a public charge. He was interviewed ahead of us, we are done and he was still being questioned. We were done in less than 5 minutes. It took the CO more time to check his computer that asking me questions.

I am super friendly but the CO I was assigned never smiled at us- Window 64. He was all straight face even when I asked How is he, he said SUPER! without smiling! hahahah..

CR-1 is super easy. Take all the required docs listed in the USEM letter, including a CEMAR/CENOMAR. Most will not be asked for. Since you are already married you will / should already know answers to the few questions that will be asked. Only answer his questions, don't get into a conversation. You'll be finished in 5 mins.

Your anxiety in waiting is far worse than the actual interview. Show confidence and you'll be fine.

Thanks everyone. Well I am for IR1 not CR1. He petitioned me 11 mos. after he went back to the US since he stayed here with me for like 9 months. Does that matter if he petitioned me 11mos after he got back to work. :|we have joint sponsor plus he's also working.

No issue with him not petitioning you for 11 months.

IR-1 just means you have been married for two years or more, upon entry into the USA you will receive the 10 year green card instead of the 2 year conditional green card. Still have to wait 3 years to apply for citizenship.
