Hi,

We've just received confirmation that the NVC has received our documents (on January 6th), and they told us there's a 30 to 45 days processing time. Then, the consulate in Paris will deal with our file. Does anyone know when I can hope to get an interview ? And how long after the interview will I be able to get the visa if my case is approved ? From what I've read on the forum, I can expect an interview mid-April...? Help figuring out the approximative dates will be much appreciated, as I have important arrangements to make and plane tickets to buy...

So much time waiting...

Merci !

Bleuenn

What visa are you applying for?

The documents NVC needs will depend on type of visa

For CR1 the criminal investigestion reports now (in the past they didn't) go to NVC.

K1 financee the criminal reports are taken to interview

the processing times in NVC are slow not only because they receive a huge number of new ones but they still have some there from 2014 ( I checked numbers on CSEA site just by putting in unknown numbers around mine) There is a huge number saying Your case is at NVD

You are forunate as your country is not a high fraud one and you should move faster but look at the USCIS site and prepare the needed documents that are now required for your type of visa

For starters, fill out your Visa Journey timeline. It will be a big help in giving you accurate advice.

By what you've written, it sounds like you've applied for a CR1/IR1 visa. Your USCIS approval is in and they forwarded your documents to NVC. Congrats! by the way.

1. Track related NVC and Interview posts within the Regional Forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/

2. Track interview information for all VJ'ers, organized by DWheels: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/580441-february-2016-interviews/

3. Prepare for your consulate/embassy interview by assembling a full set of required documents. (See NVC website for complete list)

4. Do not buy airline tickets until you have the visa in hand. The temptation is great but you're going to be out some dollars or euros in change fees when you estimate incorrectly.

Thank you so much ! Yes, I'm applying for a CR1, my husband is american and he had to go back two weeks ago :-(

I'm going to visit him in a month as a tourist -with a visa waiver - but I don't know which flight back to Paris I should get. One-way tickets are almost as expensive as return tickets, so it's still probably better to guess a date and not use it...

just submitted the docs? figure 4 to 4.5 months before NVC schedules the interview. That's a sorta current prediction, based on gisting. It could move, a month in either direction.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
