Can anyone tell me the places I can check on the status of my case? Anywhere besides CEAC? Is there a number to call? Any way to communicate besides email? Also when you got your tracking number for your visa who did it come from?

you can check your Status from https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

and if you on AP you dont have to contact them , until 1 month or more waiting,

here the contact info for canada.usembassy

http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact.html

also i read that AP for canadian can take from 1 day to MAX 1 year and for country like Afganistan can take from 2 to 5 years

This happened to me, too. Just wait it out, it's normal. The fact you said you have no 221g history is good, since that's a denial.

A 221(g) is NOT a denial, it's used for a variety of situations, including to request further documents or to tell the applicant that the embassy is waiting for the medical result before a visa can be issued.

There are a couple of likely possibilities....one, if a child is involved in the K1 petition (a child that is not your fiancé's), then the embassy may be double checking any custody papers, as Canadians are very keen on minimizing child abduction problems (where one aggrieved parent takes or keeps a child as some sort of bargaining tool in a rocky or ended relationship) or just a 'final rinse' of the paperwork, final background check of your USC fiancé (making sure he has no criminal problems from the past that might need to be addressed)...those are two most likely, given your citizenship.

I only have one son who is my fiancés son and a dual citizen so that isn't the issue. They haven't told me I'm in AP and I've specifically asked if I was placed in AP and their response always is "your file is under consular review" does that mean they are just doing final checks? This all just really sucks because we had thought we would be traveling back to the US with my fiancé because the officer at the interview told me if have my visa in 2 weeks. So now it's been over a month and nothing, we have had Christmas put on hold because we planned on celebrating Jan 2nd with my fiancés family in the US.

Poor choice of wording on my part at the time. I simply meant that if she was outright denied or they wanted more information, they would have denied her, or asked for it. In Canada it's very rare for them to keep your passport and then deny you...

I applied for my h1b visa January 2 2015, I received a call January 11 2016 that my admin process was completed and I should send my passport to the embassy, the next day I was called to be informed that because I changed my passport(which expired) while waiting for the admin process (a whole year!) I need to go through another admin process for my new passport. Any idea if that will talk a long time? Another year?

Your input is highly appreciated

Fair enough. :)

OP, AP in Canada seems to be a growing thing. Lately, there's been a lot of Canadians on VJ getting stuck on AP. :( Guess it's just a case of waiting, since they didn't give you a 221(g). Like B-2-Z says, if they had denied you or if they needed more documents from you to process your application, they would have handed you the information at the time of the interview.

Really hope you hear something soon. I know how frustrating it is to be this close and then just have to wait and wait. We're also stuck in AP but at least we got a 221(g) requesting updated documents, so now we're just hopefully waiting for them to process the last bits.

Yesterday CEAC status changed from ready to Administrative Processing 44 days after my interview. CEAC says if I'm approved after AP I'll be contacted but I was already approved at my interview. If also says as you were told at your interview this could take several weeks or longer, I was never told anything like this at my interview. This is so frustrating.
