I took my oath yesterday. I am so glad the immigration process is over for the most part. Now is time for me to apply for a passport and have the SSN office update my status. :dancing:

Hello:

Please someone guide me about what does " congrats, recommended for approval" mean?

The language to me seems like a grey area, in between of case been unconditionally approved and case not approved. Can the recommendation turn into a denial?

At the interview, I was asked to answer yes/no for citations/arrests etc, I answered NO, but I showed the officer my minor speeding tickets, which have been paid by me. The officer puts it in the file saying its a citation. Kind of worried, one because of the unclear language, and then, my speeding tickets.

After you officer recommends you for approval, a supervisor double checks his work to make sure there is no reason to deny your application. This happens to every file. Your application will almost certainly be approved and your oath ceremony scheduled.

4 months and 2 weeks for me in Houston before I was placed inline. I applied in December.

3 others in my month waited between 4 months and 5 months. All others were placed inline right after bio.

Everyone has had their interviews scheduled now.

I wouldn't worry just yet.

Hi Jimmy Hou,

That means people got interviewed scheduled around one month after being placed inline?

I know that Houston only have one oath ceremony a month, but you have more info? (like every Monday last week of the month?)

Thanks!

Sorry, I made a mistake... the 4 of us applied in December, did bio in early January, and were placed inline in late April and early May. All 4 got interview scheduled within 2 weeks of being placed inline (for 2 it was less than 48 hours). Visit our page and look through the latest table.

Remaining Houston ceremony dates this year:

May 18

June 22

July 27

August 24

September 21

October 19

November 16

December 14

There's a thread about this in the main citizenship forum... it's from a second hand source (a legal organization), but the first 4 ceremony dates have proven to be correct.

Yeah I still remember you applied 12/17 and was inline 4/26... When will your interview be may I ask? Or can you please share here whenever you know the date?

Thanks a lot Jimmy!

Uhm.. I wonder if we have the interview on like 6/21 and get approval. Can we have oath ceremony on 6/22?

Many thanks and good luck on your coming interview!

Thanks.

It's possible, but in that case, my money would be on the 07/27 ceremony (unless they have a special July 4 ceremony).

If you're not scheduled for the next ceremony after your interview (for example if you are interviewed on 06/18 and the 06/22 ceremony is full) then they may mail you an oath letter instead of giving you one after the interview.
