I know this question may have been asked before but, I would like to know if someone could PLEASE! assist. On the DS-260 form the question is "Have you ever been refused a US Visa, been refused admission to the United States or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?" Well, my husband at the time we was just dating 2014 did apply and went to the Jamaican Embassy for a visiting visa and was denied but, no reason was given for the denial and we are unsure how to answer this question. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I am applying for a CR1 visa for my wife. We did basically the same thing you did. After we got married I had to go back to the U.S. for 3 months. We applied for a tourist visa and she was denied. They told her they didn't believe she would return to China.

All of that to say, we put it in the form as a refused visa and gave the reason they gave her. I don't have much to go on here, but I would suggest just being honest and telling them you got a refused visa. I am sure they keep records of those, and getting caught lying is probably not a good idea.

Please don't take my advice on this alone, some more experience members are sure to respond. I just wanted to let you know, you are not alone on something like that, so you can feel comforted on that account.

Good luck!

Jon

I think you mean by all means we were planning... "By no means" = "we are not." "By all means" = "we are."

Just a little heads up. :) I'm glad you're planning on disclosure. I hope the rest of your process goes fast and ends happily for you. :)

Hi Al and Deidre,

I would just put English. Don't think Patois is a recognized "Language" ,but if you did put it as a different language spoken...I don't think it will be a problem. This process makes you think and double think. Good Luck to you guys!

English is the native language of Jamaica. Patois is considered slang.
