Dear All,

I have some confusion regarding my TD visa application. I had my interview at Calgary consulate, Canada on 14th of October 2015. at the time of an interview VO said he is approving me visa and i will get it back in 5 business days.

On 14th of October my status got changed into AP. it was in AP until November 1st and on 1st November it was ready just for a day and on November 2nd it was again in AP. it remained in AP until 24th of Novemeber and on 24 Nov it AGAIN changed into Ready.

it was ready until today evening i.e December 2nd. and now it AGAIN changed into AP around 6:30 pm.

i am just curious what's happening with my application. i haven't received any email or something neither i was given 221g at the time of an interview. I am now being impatient as My husband is in the US and I am away from him for last 3 mnths.

i have also emailed consulate several times but no reply :(

Can anybody help me with this confusion ? i have read alot of forums but haven't found any case in which case went into Ready status twice :(

Thanks in Advance

I thought these were obtained at the Border?

I know when I did my L1B Visa last yr I went straight to the boarder at Coutts ( I think the entry is called Sweet Grass, MT ) and my visa was approved right on the spot. My company was contemplating me doing a TN Visa and from what I recall Boiler is right they can be done right at the boarder upon POE.

Did your husband have any issue's getting the TN? Is this the first or have you or your husband had previous ones? Are you and your husband both Canadian citizens? Do you have citizenship in any other country?

I am not sure how common it is to do the TD at a consulate. I know it can be done that way, and I assume they get enough of these to be proficient, but many people do it at the border or subsequently by mail. There could be legitimate reasons for administrative processing, even if they initially say you are approved. One concern though, would be if the consulate doesn't do a lot of TN/TD's, they may have messed something up.

In the short term, I'm not sure what else you can do. You have probably seen 221g referred to as a "black hole". If it's really in administrative processing, then you'll have to wait a bit longer. If it's a mistake, probably the same thing unless you can get a hold of them.

Hopefully someone else has a better idea. I know this doesn't help right now, but I would generally suggest the border for TN related stuff.

What country are you a Citizen of?
