SAVE case check?

Hello everyone. We applied for my SS number last Nov. 4 but whenever I go to SAVE case check, I still get the same status. I attached a photo of it below. The rep in the SS office told me that I will get a mail from them if I'm eligible for SS number issuance probably 3 weeks after but it will be a month next week and still nothing from them. I hope you guys can help me out if this is in standard processing time and what we must do next if it isn't. Thank you in advance.

I just checked mine too and it has the same message. I guess it means that it was checked by immigration and returned to your local SS office.

I applied for mine November 10th, it's been already 3 weeks since I applied. They say it could take up to 4 weeks. I hope it doesn't take more time.

Did you get yours already?

Hello military-wife. Nope, still nothing. It will be the 4th week tomorrow. Hubby said that we will go to the office probably next week and follow up on it. Like you, I already have my green card in hand. How about you? Are you gonna wait til the 4th week? I'm a bit worried as I have read a topic in VJ similar to ours and they waited for 3 months with no news. ? I hope it wont come to that though.

I got my permanent residency approved and I even got the welcome letter but the card is not here yet. Probably going to receive it this week.

I never thought it would take more than 2 weeks to get SSN. Most people here get it within a week. I don't understand why it's taking us so long. I guess the person at the office must have screwed up.

I would wait until 4 weeks, then go and inquire at your local office.

A little update on my SSN:

I received another letter from our local SS office that said that I should receive my card in 2 weeks. As if I haven't waited enough... argh :( I find it unfair that we have to wait this long. I hope I get it this week at least.

Hello,

I know this thread is kinda old but hoping you guys could help me out. I have applied for my SSN May 30th and went back to local SSA office twice and they cant give me an answer. Im starting to get pissed and thinking to just wait for my EAD. I got the same status like @Riz&Den  "SAVE has returned your case to Maryland - Social Security Administration, SSA (Single Signon)." It has been 7 weeks now and theres nothing i can do once my 194 is expired.

How long did it take for you to get it after the status changed to that ^

appreciate your advise.

Val

Hey there!

Yes, I had the same situation as you did. As pleasant as my immigration experience has been all together, my initial experience at the Social Security office was very frustrating.

Unlike you, I didn't have an I-94 that allowed work authorization so I had to wait until my EAD was approved to apply for the SSN.

I went to the office the day the post office delivered my EAD card (which I want to say was sometime in mid to late August of 2015), the woman helping me was very pleasant and told me the card will come in the mail in about two weeks. I was a little impatient because I already had a job offer and I wasn't able to start!! (the letter stated that I could even without an SSN, but my employer didn't agree.) So a week later I went back to the office and asked what was the matter... They said because it was under 10 days from the date my EAD card was issued to the day I applied, so it wasn't able to be verified instantly, thus, it went to SAVE.

I pushed it, I was at the office every day, they knew me by name as I walked in the door and got it approved the second week of September.

Flash forward to my green card, I waited ten business days before I went in to remove the valid for work with DHS authorization statement. The person there told me I did the right thing by waiting the ten days. I was in and out in under five minutes.

Thank you for this, and I want to be sure I don't make the same mistake.  But how do you know the date your EAD card is issued? Is it the approval date?

i got my approval notices on 08/11, stating my applications were approved as of 08/07.  A day later, 08/12, I got the actual card.

Wait ten days from the date listed on your card, so the social security office can verify it instantly.

So if your card is issued 8/7, wait until 8/17
