I tried searching, could not find similar topics (Or I am just blind lol)

I want to play on the safe side and get also a esta application when I am going to fly to my future husband.

Is this possible? Can I still get an ESTA application even though I have a K1?

I have heared some stories before of people needed to have a long discussion with the airport and the security when they wanted to fly.

I just want to avoid that and have a smooth sailing.

I know it's not required, but I just want to play safe, I have heared some stories like twowl says in that topic. I just want a smooth sailing and nobody freaking out about the fact that I don't have a ESTA even tho I have a legit visa... I don't mind paying the extra 14 bucks just for no questions asked airport day. My question is, can I still get a ESTA or am I not eligible for it at all?

I would suggest that obtaining an ESTA is more likely to give you problems, not decrease their likelihood.

It wouldn't be of any help to you. Think about it - if for whatever reason they deny your entry on the K-1 (which is extremely rare and unlikely), you are then going to try to enter on the VWP and then get married and adjust status? They won't let you enter on the VWP with that intent. You have stated your intent to marry and adjust status when you presented your K-1. You can do that on a K-1 entry but not on a VWP entry.

Or did I misunderstand - is it the airline you are worried about or the CBP?

According to US Embassy site, ESTA is valid for 2 years from the day you get approval notice. Did you get one in the last two years?

Anyway your flight will be based on K-1. ESTA has nothing to do with you and control officers this time.

No, my ESTA expired this summer. Havnt visited yet since.

And I do mean the airlines, and the security in my home country. Like twowl writes in that other topic, he got actually detained for a couple of hours because he didnt had a ESTA. Thats what im worried about.

I know its kinda a silly question since I have a K1.

U guys say it's going to give more problems to have a esta too?

Whenever someone asks you 'ESTA?' at the airport, you answer '(no,) visa.' And that's it. Nothing more to it. No-one will detain you or hold you for not having ESTA when having a valid visa.

I was simply asked if I had an ESTA or a visa when checking in. I replied visa and I was checked in. No worries, no problem. I think you're way over thinking
