Hello All! I am very new here, just started to know better the process of AOS:) I moved here about 2 months ago, got married and finally tomorrow we are going to get our marriage certificate, which is the last missing piece to send all the AOS papers to USCIS. I have downloaded all the forms from USCIS, but my first question is: should I use my maiden name or my name after the marriage (I also assumed my husband's name) on the papers? Thanks in advance for the answers!

I called the local SS office's number; they asked to talk to my wife for security purposes. After she confirmed some info on the SS application, the rep said that it's still in progress. The rep said that they have a 4-step process of verification before they can assign an SS number, and our application has completed 3 steps; so only the last step which is the verification of entry status (or something like that) by USCIS. I suspect the SS office has to wait to hear back from USCIS before they can assign an SS number for a K-1 case.

Use the married name, then show maiden name under "Other names used" and submit a copy of the court order for name change.

Ok, thank you! I just sent him to the local SS office and they couldn't tell him anything except "It was sent to Buffalo, but didn't make it there yet"

When asked what they meant like, sent how long ago? or sent recently? is it lost? what's the status. He couldn't answer anything. He just told my husband to come back another time.

I just realised i also made the same mistake of using priority mail to deliver it to the physical address...USPS tracking shows it was delivered on Saturday at 9.07am but from reading on here i know Saturdays those offices are closed smh! Now i am just nail biting waiting for confirmation of receipt from USCIS

I did the same mistake , I send it on october 29 and it was delivered on NOv,5, Im just waiting for news from USCIS....

dont worry, another Vj member (23dave) did the same mistake and she received a text message last night stating that it was received and will get her 03 Notices next days.

We sent our AOS application out November 4th via UPS and it got there November 6th. But nothing since then! Anyone know how long it takes for them to send you a 'receipt' letter? Or at least to even cash your cheque?

Hi folks, my AOS Packet plus EAD and AP arrived at the USCIS Nov 6th. Today Nov 11th I received 3 texts and 3 emails stating my case numbers. Good luck to y'all

I mailed package on the 5th, delivered on the 6th; and received last night 3 text messages + 3 emails with 3 case numbers.

Our lawyer that handled K-1 does the AOS also. They sent our package out on Nov 3rd. Check cleared the bank today so I know it was received lol.

Hi everyon it's been so long since I've been on vj. I mailed my package to the physical address next day express mail on 10/07 it was delivered on 11/09. I'm a bit worried because I got the text and email but only one case number. I see everyone else always get three. Should I be worried.

I sent our package on 11/3 to the same address and it was delivered on 11/7 at 9:07am. Still haven't received a text or email with confirmation. Anxiously waiting!!

Hi everyone,

So after I posted my comment I received another text and email and 30 minutes after that got the third one. So it took about an hour for me to get all three texts and email. I am not complaining though because I seem to be lucky as I see others are still waiting for their confirmation. Good Luck everyone as the waiting game begins again.

I'm hoping to get the NOA next week. My check was cashed yesterday - I haven't seen an email or text yet. Once I have the NOA with the # I can start stalking the site, lol. Will be like Dejavu -hopefully nothing is as bad as the first wait through TSC lol.
