Today my fiance had his interview and he was approved. We are so so excited to start to live our lives together.

I am so thankful for VJ and all of the VJ'ers out there who made this process so simple and easy. If you are thinking about getting a lawyer - just stop right there and save the money - you'll need it for the next process ;)! But seriously, I was about to go that route until I miraculously found this page and learned to do everything myself. With all the guides and helpful forums I found an answer to every single question on here. So please don't think about it twice (unless you have a strong legal case) - because you CAN do it!

Here is how the interview went:

Over all the process was stress free, easy, and fast! My fiance had his appointment at 3pm and he was done and calling me by 4pm.

When he first arrived he waited among 4 others to be called up to the first window where he gave his medical paper work and receipt for payment of visa. The only question he was asked was if either of us had been previously married - in which he answered that I was - and that was all. He was then told to take a seat.

Minutes later, he was called up to the other window for the "dreaded" interview! He swore to tell the truth and then was asked, what seems to be the most popular question for Madrid, "tell me your story". So he did. He said he wished he gave more details but was nervous - basically his story went something like this: boy meets girls. boy falls for girl. boy marries girl. wink.gif Well, and some added dates too. He was then asked if I (his fiance) studied, and he said yes, and told him what I was studying. He asked him if he studied, said yes and what he was studying. Then he asked for pictures (he showed him 2/3 albums we had) the officer smiled while looking at our pictures... (good sign?). My fiance then said, "I have letters too" (we had A LOT more than just letters lol) the council just said "I don't need them, you're approved and will receive your visa in a week."

ah... music to our ears.

I really can't complain about the Embassy in Spain. Anytime I had a question and I emailed them, within hours I would have a response. Everything was always done very quickly!

The fiance and I have a lot coming up these next months: I got a new job, finishing up the semester, and starting our lives together. No doubt its going to be difficult, but thats just another curve ball thrown at us that we can definitely handle.

Will be back soon for AOS,

P & L
