Hey everyone. I've applied and am at some point going to receive a tourist visa to nigeria. If I don't get it in time for this trip (which I should already be on) can I use it for a trip in a few months? I only ask because I know you have to provide flight info to get the visa. Thanks!

Many first visas from Nigeria are single entry and only good for entry before a certain date. When you get your passport back you will have to read and see if you got a single entry or a multiple entry. Multi entry are good for unlimited trips at any time until it expires.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thank you everyone!

You have to wait until you get it. And no you do not have to provide flight information. You can just merely state your itinerary when you hope to leave and come back. If you happen to get a Visa that's short. It's usually 6 months some first time people get 2 year entry. It's all how you write you invitation letter.

WOW I thought you been gone last Friday like you stated. You still haven;t got your Visa back? What does the embassy say?

So no its not transferable if you don;t use before the entry date given. You would have to apply all over again.

The first time I applied I got a 6 month entry. I applied again this year and got a 2 year. So it depends on what you stated in your letter. What you state you are doing.

Thank you and Yes, I was supposed to leave Friday.

The embassy is saying it's not their fault and hung up on me. I'm very unhappy with them right now but, that's besides the point. :(

I didnt know getting a single or multi entry was guesswork. I thought you apply for one or the other. Its been a while since I applied for a NIgeria one, but when I come to Ghana I specifically choose and pay for single or multi entry. The only variant is how many months they give it to me for. a single entry is usually good for 3 months. But a multi entry can vary between a year and five years. Also, if the visa is good for 3 months, that only means you have to LEAVE US within the 3 months. I was confused once and thought my visa was no good because I was traveling the day before it expired to Nigeria. I was told at the airport, as long as I leave the US before it expired, you're good.
