Hello bkp51!!

According to the AP timeline (which of course is NOT a science - but a guide) they are working on Sept 16 or 17th dates for AP & EAD's . It looks like you're about a little over a month behind that (according to your timeline). :(

By no means am I trying to be negative, but if you're planning traveling on December 11th, that's only about 2 1/2 weeks away. Maybe you can call and see if anything can be done to expedite yours. I know usually they won't do it unless it's an emergency, but there's no harm in trying.

GOOD LUCK and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

Our lovely journey!!

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

On USCIS website, it says....

"Most applicants with pending applications or petitions should notify us as soon as possible, no more than 10 days after your move."

And you can do it on USCIS website....all you need is your receipt number, new address and old address.

Good Luck!

Hi! Good day! I just wanna ask if after you had your biometrics, did you get some updates on your case?because mine is still showing "case was received"..

Anyway, have you change your address already? Thanks!

Marriage certificate is needed to show in case you change your last name to spouse name

Hello Lizb2013,

I have a question. I did not change my name at marriage as I misunderstood the process. Now my understanding is that I will first need to change it on my foreign passport before my SS, DL etc can be changed. Are you saying that although I used my maiden name in the AOS application, I can request to have my married name used at the Biometric appt? Pls note that my marriage certificate has my maiden name.

Hi Chejemmie. I don't think you can do that at biometrics appointment but it doesn't hurt to ask them when you're there. What I meant was that you need to bring you marriage certificate in case your ID or passport has still your maiden last name but your biometrics letter has your spouse last name. That was my case. I changed my maiden last name for my husband's and it shows it in the marriage certificate but my passport still has my maiden name and since I filed with my married last name, I had to show them the marriage certificate to prove it was me.

Hey Steftlin - thanks for the update! where are you able to see that, i'd like to track it too! I'm technically a Sept 30 filer so I'm really hoping AP comes soon ... at least before Dec 23 when we're flying :content:

Also.... anyone know about AP not being granted? I had read that its supposed to be for "emergencies only" but it seems that everyone gets their standard EAD/AP no problem. (perhaps not if you request the rushed AP but the standard one i haven't heard too many people saying theirs were denied).

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am so excited to finally be able to move on the AOS section on this forum :-)

There is no November thread yet, so I am coming here instead!

I am so confused - on the Adjustment of Status application we have to give the category we apply under (Question 16)

What did you put? (a)(6) or ©(9)? The example here on VJ says ©(9), but the wording on the actual instructions has me totally turned around in my head.

Could it be that (a)(6) only applies to the EAD that K1s can apply to that is valid until the I94 runs out?

Thank you!

Hello my fellow October Filers, I got the RFE letter today. According to them my husband did not meet the minimum income requirements, which made us confused on which year did they base it from. Because his current annual income meets the minimum, we even sent most recent 6 months pay stub from his Army Reserve and Civilian job to proved it. The recent tax year which is 2014 we only had 28k total income, we don't have the transcript for these year and I think I goof for just sending W2s instead of sending the whole stuff from H&R Block. Did they base it from that year? Now, our only option is to have a joint sponsor. This is so frustrating right now ?

Received yellow RFE notice — I used old I-864 form :crying: , now need to re-submit the new one dated 7/02/2015.

No big deal - thought things are worse, lol
