*** Thread moved from CR-1 Process forum to the Caribbean forum, for Kingston-specific advice. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hey recently got a cc also and of course just like you with the interview looming I'm a little worried. But I have been using my time to just go over what is needed for the interview and when I see denials I just whisper a prayer keep my faith up trusting that God will see me through. Just focus on the positives so many approvals despite the denials, speak that into your situation and you will be good.

Just bring a lot of evidence to prove the relationship is bonefide....so wedding photos, honeymoon photos, photos with your child, photos with parents, photos with friends, photos from past trips, ticket stubs, flight confirmations, hotel confirmations, cards, gift reciepts, everything and anything you can think of.

Chances are they won't even ask to see any of this, but just in case, have it ready :)

beneicary is woman with child in Jamica?

go into interview with confidence

answer questions without hestiation

do not elaborate on the answer just what they ask

they may not let the baby into the interview so be prepared to have a babysitter

photos should be of US spouse with your family and freinds, and you too together

they do look at a few photos

you can be asked stupid questions like what spouse ate for breakfast as they have not changed the list of questions from the days the spouse came first to the US and then was questioned

Good luck

Our relationship is real, but my husband was denied, so the advice about it being real and having nothing to worry about, well that wasn't the case with us. What was the case was a situation we didn't think would be a big deal, turned out to be what the CO focused on.

The fault was mine, I see now, because I was thinking like me, not like the suspicious CO. Even if your relationship is real, make sure you keep reading all these posts and try to foresee what may be a red flag to the CO. What may seem innocent to you, may not be to them.

I wish you the best luck!

I should have stated it is a CR1 visa, not fiance visa. My husband had plenty of photos, which she looked at, chats, phone calls, etc....The denial letter and checklist did not state anything specifically about what the CO found to make my husband ineligible.

But she focused on questions about my husband's daughter, and the girl's mother, which is how we figured out what the problem may be. He has a daughter that we didn't petition for at this time. We would wait until he came here, got himself settled and working, then petition for her. But the CO probably thinks otherwise.

This is the sort of thing we didn't even think about. So that's what I'm saying. Look at your relationship as if it is by someone who is immediately suspicious, not a kind hearted person. That's the harsh reality.

Bring plenty of proof. be prepared to answer intimate questions about your spouse. Is your spouse joining you at the interview? that would be a wise move. The CO told me personally that it helped that I was there for the 2nd interview. Your relationship is bone fide. you have no worries. relax and be prepared to enjoy your victory. You have a long history plus a child together. If you have any red flags, age difference, legal issues, other marriages, just be prepared to answer questions truthfully. You will be fine. I just went through an intense interview and really they just want to see if your relationship is real. Know that you know your spouse as well as anyone would in a period of 4-5 years and that you know and have met or talked to each others families. Your fine:)
