Hello!

So, I live in the US and my fiance lives in the UK. He will likely have his visa in hand by December, though he won't be moving to the US until about April 2016. Because of that, I was hoping to go visit him for about three weeks over Christmas, and I was wondering if any of you thought I would have issues going for a visit with his visa pending and everything. I assume not, since I'm sure it would be more difficult for him to visit me in the US, but I just want to make sure I have all the bases covered before we go ahead and book a plane ticket.

Thanks!

Not sure where you are in the process I assume a K1. But I can't see any issues w/ you visiting him as many on here encourage people to attend the Embassy/Consulate interviews if possible. Didn't see anything in the process that said you petitioner travelling would be prohibitive at all. If I were you and you have your timing down, I'd hold of and attend the interview when you know when it is, if possible...but the UK probably isn't has critical as other locales.

You'll be fine visiting him. The other way around you can have issues, as you've applied for him to immigrate and it makes them wary you'll just skip out and stay on a visit. Which is ludicrous when you're going through the right processes. But anyway, I digress...

No issues visiting him. ?

I see no problem either way unless one of you has visited for long stays (80-90 days), went home a couple of weeks then went back for another long stay. That might make them ask more questions like why do you come so often but not prohibit you. Besides you have paperwork to show he is getting proper immigration done so not going to hide out illegally or you remain in UK overstay when he is moving to America soon.

No need to attend an interview in London BTW. It is short and easy.

Not sure it would matter who visits.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

When my wife, then fiance, went through the checks at Heathrow they quizzed her a bit when she said she was visiting her fiance, basically trying to ascertain if she was going to try to stay for good. She showed her return ticket and a print out of our approved k1 petition (hence that we wanted to be in the States, not the UK) and they let her go through easily enough.
