As stated numerous times before in this forum from MANY different people CFO is a crock at the very best. The routinely harass people about mundane details, information, and so called "requirements" that are not listed anywhere except what they think up for that day/person. We all thought it would have gotten better once it got away from PRISM but it obviously has not gotten any better.

I am glad your fiance got her CFO sticker and now you can continue your life together happy.

You mean your 1040 tax form saying "filing single"? Really? Do they realize how easy that is to fake?

Most what they ask for is nothing but all "show" and "no go". It's all stupid except for the topic. And, that I can't disagree with. But the stupid requests for documents and proof of this and proof of that. And what get's me is that each of the proctors there, can ask any question or demand any document, it's what ever they feel like at the moment. No other proctor has to ask for the same thing. There is no consistent list of requirements. NONE.

They were asking at one time for the fiancé's "landline" phone number. Now, there maybe one guy in 10,000 applicants that run through CFO that has a landline. So how stupid is that question?

Don't get me started. :ranting:

To Greenbaum...

Two things...

1- Why do the CFO as the last departure step and not the first? Doing so, would spare a lot of people from other steps, headache and expenses.

2- Why not hire professionals to do this work, if it was so important and it is?

To debi361...

If you still have that same old certificate, then I would just take it after the interview to CFO and get the sticker. If they argue, then do the whole thing?

According to the CFO website, there is no expiration on their certificate hence, it's for life. Which means it's still valid.

However, to have a direct answer (if there was such one in the PI), contact the CFO and get it from the source. Don't forget to get some name or confirmation of what they'd tell you. Not that it will help :)

Thank you very much Zanby. :) Noted. Sometimes when its all now happening and expecting the interview soon...I get brain-clog! Lol! Im actually petrified right now. We just learned from NVC that my interview will be Oct. 8, 2015. But I havent got the appointment letter or the packet yet. I hope they'll send that soon. We just learned that we have that as schedule when my husband called NVC today.

Sorry if I was a bit vague in #2. What I wanted to say was, Why don't the CFO hire professionals to interview people since it's an important thing? But in the Philippines, anything goes and I do realize now that I should ask for logic.

As for #1, I would still want the CFO to be done earlier since it's the ultimate go/no go for the Filipino and doesn't care about the US visa, obviously?

If there was a sicker on the passport before the interview at USEM, it might even make it easier for the USEM staff to make their decision? The airport officer can still see the sticker?

But then, this is the Philippines!

I'll be attending CFO seminar in cebu by the 30th of this month. It seems the employees in each of the branch are very rude and horrible to their applicants in terms of requirements. Is there a way where we can complain this department? Raising this issue in USCIS would ring them a bell. Would that be helpful? I feel like they are harrassing filipino applicants. It's frustrating.

CFO has nothing to do with USCIS or the United States, it is a Philippines requirement... complain there, let us know how that goes ;)
