The thing is, you guys do not know my first experience. I invested alot of time into it and things didn't work out.

And yes, there is one main lady I am going to meet who I have been communicating with. Perhaps I shouldn't have worded it as "shopping". I think if this were a different forum (ex. RWguide) opinions would be different.

I am not trying to argue with people here; just wanted to let people know I may be going thru the process again.

Maybe this thread should be deleted by a mod...

I don't wish you future success. Sorry...

Thanks for your stupid opinion. The law was not put in place for situations like this. The only thing that wasn't legit was the woman I brought here.

So you don't think that law wasn't put in place for situations like this...? If not, go back, read this thread again, and answer again.

FWIW, I'm not saying you shouldn't have another chance but I am saying you should be put behind others how haven't already gone one time around.

Why don't you go back and re-read this thread? In fact, go back and read the new law passed. It won't matter anyway because I will be filing after 2yrs most likely.

Well, after a disappointing first experience a year ago (brought a girl from Kharkov here and it didn't work out), I am travelling to Lviv, Ukraine in April to meet 2 new ladies.

um, that sounds like you're shopping at k-mart for blue light specials.

sorry for not saying "I am going to meet the one ultimate lady who is the end all perfect woman who I will marry soon"

Surely if you were going thru this a second time, you would be more cautious

jeez...

going to meet two on the same trip sounds a bit like the show "the bachelor"

Only problem with 'dating int'l style' is that a main problem with using the K-1 as a 'get to know you visa' is that it's actually against the intent of it.

I have no problem if someone's drawn to a particular culture, but **'s sake...if the problem with the first one was that you didn't really know what she was like, then logic would dictate not to have a 12 day trip...possibly even another holiday...and then declare your intent with the gov't...only to find out what she's like after the fact.

It's silly, it's shortsighted, but whatever.

To each his/her own.

I'm with Becc and Lisa on this one though. I met David by chance in a restaurant while I was on vacation in Germany. If he had not approached me, I wouldn't have been aware of his existence and I was not looking for another relationship when we met. We broke up for 3 months after we were 'together' (long distance) for 3 months because I couldn't get my mind wrapped around it all....

And here we are... married almost 4 months an I'm telling you, I would NOT choose this path again... not for a second. No reflection on the quality of the relationship/marriage.... David was the ONLY one worth going through this for. If this had not worked out and I met someone again while overseas, I would dismiss it.

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

BigK, people are going to be offended because you are abusing the K1 process. You seem to think "K1 process" means choosing a foreign potential bride and then bringing her over to get to know a little better Stateside. Most of us just consider it the process used to bring our fiance(e)s who we already know we want to marry.

I hope it didn't take my visa longer to approve because someone ahead of me in line had applied for a K1 to audition a wife later. >:(

Hi Lisa, she is more of a "back-up". A nice girl but with less in common....

The site I am using: http://www.lvivbrides.com

The owners are really nice people who actually "know the women well. Wow, what a crazy thought! lol

being curious, i had a look at this website... Its actually quite humorous. No offense, but it reminds me of amazon.com

Eitherway, welcome back to VJ, and good luck with your future endevours.
