Quick questions anyone who can answer.
1. When filing out i130 or any other form for immigration purposes, is it acceptable/correct to state "none" or "n/a" on items that do not pertain to me or my spouse? or should I leave 'Blank". The reason I ask is because I've read that these forms are very technical, also, I read somewhere that the word "none" should not be used and it is preferred to leave blank-specifically in the boxes where it asks for A-Number, which neither me or my spouse have.
2. in the lines that ask for spouse's children, should I just ignore and leave blank since he has no children or should I add "no Children" to the second line?
3. the line where it asks to enter the last address where my spuse and I have lived together, what should I put? Technically, we have not had a chance to live together as per say.

any thoughts?

thanks.
RH.

I'm in the process of doing this as well. Hopefully someone else can also confirm who has done this successfully.

1.If the question doesn't apply then I think you leave it blank. Thats how I interpreted it anyway.

2.Leave blank.

3.If you and your partner never had the same address as your principal place of residence then leave it blank.

Hope that helps

1. If the question doesn't apply put NONE or N/A.

2. If doesn't have children just put your spouse name.

3. If you never live together and asking for the address put N/A

Answers:

  1. If an item or items does not apply to you, then "N/A" is proper. If an item or item does apply to you but you do not have it, then "None" is the proper answer.
  2. "None" or the "no children" response you mentioned are both proper, do not leave blank or you will likely receive an RFE asking for that information.
  3. "We have not yet lived together" is a proper response to that question (this is what I wrote for that section and had no issues doing it). Leaving it blank could result in an RFE and the question is applicable to you so "N/A" is not a proper answer.
