Advice - NOA1 taking a while

We mailed in the 751 on 31 Jul. It was rec'd and check cashed on 5 Aug (per online bank record). Still no NOA1 rec'd.

Maybe the NOA1 was lost in the mail, or does it take a while? Should I call to see what's going on?

Do not call. It can take yup to 30 days to receive the NOA. In fact, it has only been 12 business days since they cashed the check.

Check out some of the monthly filing threads to get an idea of what is a reasonable number of days to wait. Good luck!

Normally, once USCIS receives your application they will send an email with the following details (I edited it to omit my personal info):

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS (Nebraska/Texas/Vermont/California) Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number, e.g. ***1234567890. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.
This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your case remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your case must be verified with USCIS.
PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

If you do not receive your receipt notice in 30 government business days after the date you filed, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283.

I shouldn't worry about NOA1 that is only a receipt that USCIS has received your application, if you sign up on the USCIS website so you can check your status make sure you receive email and text to notify you of any updates on your case. What is important is the NOA2 which is the approval of your application. So just relax and just enjoy the ride. Good luck on your journey

Thanks for the replies. Update: I just returned to my overseas duty location after some stateside training and leave yesterday, checked the mail today and it was rec'd here. I had all the mail fwd'd to this location and forgot about that, as the USPS only actually fwds it about half the time.

Now having issues with the USCIS site to check the status online. Is the site down? Or perhaps it's blocked from use from overseas? The site itself is working, just not the check your case status link.

You cannot check any status updates with the NOA1 receipt number You need the biometrics number. Since you're overseas you'll likely have to call the USCIS to get the case number to check for status updates
