Still waiting for NOA2

Asking for a friend, this is not what I'm doing. They thought that a K-3 would be much much faster so after they filed an I-130, they filed the I-129F.

The NOA1 for the I-130 was Oct 20 and the NOA1 for the I-129F was Nov 17 and the case was sent to the Texas Service Center.

They haven't received anything from USCIS since getting the NOA1s. She's called a few times. Once a supervisor told her it'd only be a couple more weeks but it's been a couple months since then. All the other phone calls she's made, they keep telling her they can't do anything until they're past her NOA1 date and according to them they're working on things before Nov 17. I checked the website and realised that the for the I-129F it was Nov 10 on May 31 and Dec 21 on May 31. So at the very least the I-130 should have been approved by now.

She's calling USCIS again in the morning. Is there anything thing that she should say/ask? How can she get things moving?

it will be better if you will ask your friend to join the forum and ask questions directly

note that 6 month is normal.processing time. I have also heard the horror stories recently where USCIS told folks to wait another 6 month.

likely both her petition will b approved and at nvc they will close k3 n continue with cr1

Yes

She's been waiting for well over 6 months, try closer to 9 months. And if 6 months is the normal time, why does everyone say 5 months? Her spouse is from Australia, this isn't a high risk country.

Yes, this is what I've told her will happen. But it still doesn't help the fact that there are people being approved at Texas from this year and she's still waiting. So how does she get things moving?

My answers in green bold. Her case is outside the normal processing time. WAY WAY outside normal processing time.

So she submitted a service request and got this in reply

We have received your service request and researched the status of your case. We have had to perform additional review and this has caused a delay in processing time. Your case is currently in line for processing and adjudication. Cases are processed in the order in which they were received. If you do not receive a decision or notice of further action within 90 days, please contact customer service.

90 days will put them at over a year since first filing. Any ideas of what this actually means??

They're being told to wait >90 days before inquiring again.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
