I had my medical exam in London in June 2014.

I received my K-1 visa, came to the USA and got married in USA in October 2014 and filed my AOS, for a green card, in early November 2014.

In Feb or March this year I received a letter saying my case was a possible visa waiver and that my case would be delayed approx 6 months due to 'backlog of cases'.

Today I got a letter and was hoping it was the green card.

However the letter says "Notice of Intent to Deny" based on the fact that my I-693 has expired as it's now 14 months since I had my medical exam, and I have to provide a new I-693 within 30 days.

To add stress to this situation, the letter was dated July 29. (We moved from Indiana to Colorado and the mail is being re-directed).

I'm really worried and upset about this. It seems that, due to the USCIS delaying my case, I now have to have another medical exam, and probably pay hundreds of dollars for it (after all the other costs we've had already)?

Is that the only option? If I can schedule a med exam for this week, it is probably I will meet the deadline? Does anyone have any other advice about what I should do?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Yes that is your only option get the medical done and submit the results.

You need to comply with the RFE in order to receive your green card approval.
