Hello,

I am an exchange student that is supposed to start his exchange semester at 24 August

I had 2 visa interviews, one of them was refused, which was at 5 June, the other one, however, was approved at 15 July.

However, I had to travel after the interview and I asked my officer if traveling will affect the processing of my visa in any way and he said it wouldn't and that I should just send back my passport when I get back and the visa would be issued in two days.

So I did travel taking my passport with me and after arriving back to Riyadh(where I live) i sent my passport back tO the embassy, but suddenly I was informed my case was put under administrative processing, which would take up to several months. This got me very frustrated as I don't have that much time, and I have already confirmed with my university in Florida that I will be attending after my second interview where I was told I'm approved.

Did anyone go through the same thing? And why would ai be put under administrative processing anyways after being told I'm approved? Does travelling have anything to do with it?

My online status says my case has been created on 15/7 and last update is also 15/7, and this is what worries me the most, that there has been no updates on my status whatsoever.

Being from a T country is the issue, extra background checks.
