I have just now scheduled my OFC appointment. Question is, Is this Bio metrics appointment ??

They also listed below documents to bring. No problem with the documents but our AOS was submitted to NVC and we have a checklist for the same. Do we have to bring AOS at OFC appointment ??

● Appointment confirmation letter

● Your current passport and most recently expired passport

● Print out of the DS-260 (or DS-160 for K visas) confirmation page

● Police clearance certificate from the regional passport office

● Medical report (X-ray films and discs not required)

● Original and photocopy of birth and marriage certificates

● Affidavit of Support (Form I-864 or I-134), sponsor’s recent tax returns, job letter, and pay stub (if applicable)

● Proof of relationship between petitioner and beneficiary (if applicable)

● K-1 visa or DV fee payment receipt

Yes. Offsite Facilitation Center (OFC) locations are used by the visa applicants to submit biometric information including their fingerprints and digital photograph.

Interview Preparation – Required Documents Gather & Bring All Required Documents

The applicant is responsible to bring all required original civil documents, and photocopies of the original civil documents, to the visa interview. Failure to bring all required original documents and the photocopies to the interview may cause delay or denial of the visa. The following documents must be available at the interview:

• Appointment Letter received from the NVC
• The confirmation page of the online DS-260 form
• Passport(s) valid for six months beyond the intended date of entry into the United States
• Police Certificate(s)
• Birth Certificate(s)
• Color photographs 2x2 size
• Marriage Certificate, if applicable
• Evidence of financial support (e.g. Affidavit of Support, a notarized offer of employment, or evidence of assets)
• Divorce decree or death certificate of spouse, if applicable
• Family-based cases: All original documents establishing the relationship between the petitioner and the applicant
• Power of Attorney for Minors

Quick question, for the interview in Mexico does the applicant need a biometrics appointment before the interview or is that done at the time of the interview?

We scheduled appointment for medical but just wondering on the fingerprints. Thanks!

Yes you have special biometrics appointment to make.

**NEW** Interview APPOINTMENT needs to be scheduled along with ASC/biometrics(fingerprint)appointment by phone or on the website. Appointments may be available Mon-Fri excluding American and Mexican holidays http://mexico.usembassy.gov/eng/holidays.htmlas well the second Wednesday and last Friday of every month ASC appointments are available Saturdays as well.

For more information. Visa applicants in Mexico are required to visit an Applicant Service Center (ASC) prior to their consular section interview. The ASC staff collects the applicant's biometric information that will be reviewed by the consular section prior to the applicant's interview. The ASCs are located in buildings separate from the U.S. Embassy and Consulates. For more information go to

One question to those of you that had your interview scheduled: your status at ceac website shows that your case stills 'at NVC'?

I hope to get sooner mine, called yesterday but nothing yet

It will say "AT NVC" until they ship it off. Probably by end of week most will change to "IN TRANSIT"

Did you call and get your interview date. In Transit means you have a date. Call report back. This is great news for Lagos. I have people to call who are seriously waiting like you since June.

I think he meant to say to call End Of the Day..

When you call the NVC number, the options have changed Select option 1 and then Option 7 to find out if you have any interview date scheduled or not.

I had an interesting chat with the NVC. It seems you need to ask the right questions to get clarity. Yes they are scheduling for October now BUT they are atl receiving lists for people who need to be notified for their September interviews.

The list is still being updated due to expedites and rescheduling issues etc. so that it is still quite possible to receive a September appointment until the end of August.

I hope that's true. I will wait until the end of the month. If still no interview, I'm booking my vacation for a month to see my husband. Hoping to hear some good news by end of the week.

The best thing you can do is tio ask your spouse to call NVC.

Otherwise you can try calling yourself by dialing 00-1-603-334-0700. If you hear "Due to large number of calls......" that means phone line is busy so you have to keep trying to call again and again.

If you get connected to the options menu then select 1 and then select 7. It will take you to an agent. They will ask you for Your Case Number, Beneficary's name, DOB (you I am assuming) and your spouse name.

Then you can ask them if they have a interview date for you. If they have then they will tell you the date otherwise they will tell you to wait.
