If the IV Application (DS260) is available to be completed on the CEAC website, then yes get that going..... be prepared to spend a good chunk of time working on it!!

If DS-260 is available online then go ahead and complete DS-260 NOW. Before filling out DS-260, see the DS-260 exemplar to summarize all the information you will need to fill that form.

Why would you send the I-864W - that is the Waiver and there are certain criteria that must be met to waive the support requirements.... If you do qualify - awesome :)

If not, I sent my I-864EZ at the same time as the Civil Documents - As a Canadian, I qualified for RP (Electronic Processing) so I sent 1 email for the AOS & supporting documentation, and 1 email for the Civil Documents.....

The 864W requirements:

Any of the following is true:
  • The immigrant visa applicant has earned or can be credited with at least 40 eligible quarters under the Social Security Act (SSA), or
  • You are a self-petitioning widow(er) with an approved Form I-360, or
  • You are a self-petitioning battered spouse or child with an approved From I-360, or
  • You are sponsoring a child who will become a U.S. citizen immediately upon entry under the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 (CCA)

if you paid online, then the instructions on what to do are actually in the coversheets to be downloaded.

have another look, report back when able.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
