I have question if anyone has been down the same road. For the k1 visa Affidavit of Support on my 2014 taxes it list less than what I make.. on my takes it says I made around 18,000, but in reality I make about 24,000 . should this be a problem in the interview will they say I don't make enough . as the 125 percent proverty is around 19,933 I believe. I can provide paystubs showing I make enough to support it . should that be ok.. thanks if anyone has been though the same would be much appreciated

I understand they go by the gross but it also says you might not be making same as what is stated on taxes from last year. so as long as you prove that you make more should be fine

But what if its weekly and not salary based . Should I just have my work add what I make and times by how many weeks in year should that be ok

Thanks I'm just worried that's all hope it should be ok and they will accept it as that . Cause on the i864 it says list your current salary so I think maybe they go by that and as long as the amount isn't a large amount in difference from tax years should be ok

no, they don't go by gross as over $20000 of mine was untaxable and they just look at adjusted income and if you have retirement or Social security (according to my attorney) they have no idea of what else to read on tax papers. you do not have to submit tax forms/you actually can send in W2's.

I have tax forms . My thing is on my tax forms and w2 I made 17,789 as I took 3 months off to visit my fiancé . So I currently make 25,000 yearly . I just want to make sure I won't be disqualified as a sponsor . I guess if I get a later and show my last pay stubs should be fine

That is incorrect. It depends on which tax form you filed. For the 1040 and 1040A form they use the total gross income, for the 1040ez tax form the adjusted income is use

If you sent in a copy of the tax form copies of w-2 forms are also require. If you sent in a tax transcript then w-2,s are not require

That is enough to sponsor as current annual income is use. It is base on average hours work per week x pay per hour x 52 weeks in year, for hourly paid employee. For salary employee it will be whatever your annually salary is. Bonus, deductions, vacation or sick paid or time off are not use to figure current income.

So Your tax return most likely will not show the same amount

thx so much for your info . was going crazy to try and figure that out . ya so 550 x 52 =28,600 which is about what ive been making. so than im more than ok to sponsor. I was just worried about last years taxes as it say arou nd 18,000 and they would go off of that .. but as long as current income applies it should be fine than.
