CONFUSED - If you have to Submit Original I-864 to NVC, how can you submit the Original @ Montreal??

We are just waiting for the portals to become available again to pay our AOS and Visa Application Fees. My question is, when sending documents to NVC, I understand we can scan and send copies to NVC except for the I-864EZ, aka Affidavit of Support, and the "original" must be submitted to NVC. If this is so, then how can a person have the original "I-864EZ" to present @ Montreal for the interview??

For cases going through Montreal, the I-864EZ can also be scanned and emailed to the NVC. The original is then brought to the interview.

^^ that..... we did EP as well and scanned and emailed everything..... one thing you may want to do is sign it in blue ink and scan it in full colour - this way they can see it is an original signature...... ((still working on the first coffee of the day, does that make sense?!))

If you are emailing the NVC the documents you must email them EVERYTHING. You can mail or you can email, but you cannot do both. So the I-864EZ would be emailed if you are choosing to do EP (electronic processing.)

You would then bring the original to the interview.

if the original is indeed received at NVC, not a scan,

then there's no need to present it to the IV Unit in Montreal,

as the entire casefile travelled to Montreal right prior to interview date.

However,

I suggest you look at utilising Electronic Processing for Montreal, now, and soonish. Instead of whatever plan you are doing at the moment.

my husband filled it out online - he printed two copies off - hand signed both of them - sent 1 with the IV packet and the other gave to me for the interview. So technically you have two originals.

And just a note I remember we had the option for online but I was told they process the mail ins faster than the online applications. Just FYI. Just send it tracked postage.
