Supreme Court saves Obamacare

Healthcare is a human right. We are the only first world nation with a completely messed up healthcare system. Messed up with or without the ACA. None of it is fit for purpose. Scrap it all in favour of single payer. People should not die because they are poor, have fallen on hard times, or are even drug-addicted prostitutes. The #### you, I got mine attitude is destroying this country. We are all Americans, damn it, and we are all in this together, for better or worse.

That's what scares me. It's like this country hates the poor more than anything else.

the opposite of this is true as well. as long as a person as the means, healthcare is available to them. so what about the folks stuck in the middle? do you think that the entirety of the working class make enough to 'get healthcare'?

obamacare does more than just offer payment for poor lazy people who dare to need medical attention. my sister has been able to stay on my dad's health insurance until next year - when she turns 26. this has been invaluable to her, considering in this time she's gotten her degree and found solid employment - with good insurance. insurance that can't place her at a disadvantage because she has diabetes (her out of pocket expenses are over 500$ per month, on good insurance).

people aren't entitled to "benefits" but, if we want to claim we are civilized, people are entitled to healthcare. the objective is making healthcare affordable.

notice how it's always the same handful of youtube videos.

Of course, because we know only certain folks abuse welfare.

I have had relative in my family, (They were all girls) that was able to suck of the welfare teat for many years, I have seen welfare abuse so many times

Tell me, are they living the glamorous life? Because as much as I hear that being on welfare is awesome, you make me want to quit my job and sign up.

We have two County Hospitals in Dallas and Fort Worth. John Peter SMith in Fort Worth, and Parkland in Dallas, You might of heard of Parklanad that is where they took Kennedy when he was shot. These hospitals are top of line hospitals, and have the latest and greatest equipment and if you are trauma then more than likely you are going to one of these hospitals because they are top level hospitals for care.

They are subsided by the taxpayers in either Dallas or Tarrant county, and yes you may have to wait but you can get free medical there. My wife used to work a JPS in Fort Worth as a nurse and they pay very well.

Are those free hospitals? Because in STL and ILL, I've been to those free, government places and they're one shade away from looking like the 9th circle of Hell.

Interesting. These hospitals are funded with public money, offer free health care with a waiting period. Basically you're living in a socialist city.

I would go one step further and claim that 'people' are the ultimate infrastructure of any country. There is no country without 'We The People'.

It's a win for the American people because it affords many healthcare they would otherwise not have.

We also pay insurance for our cars, homes, contents, life. We've been living in this basic socialist society for a while now.

We are forced to pay for Health Insurance

You do not have to have Home Insurance, Life Insurance or Car Insurance - It's your personal choice to have it or not have it.

Health Insurance is now forced by law that you have it...

Most insurance was still in effect if the child was in college up to certain age and not married, What you are referring to was already in place thru private insurance

I have never seen a "Free" or Government Hospital in Texas, We have hospitals that are funded by the taxpayers of the county...

We are also forced to pay for auto insurance. You don't have a choice. If you have a car you must have insurance.

As it stands, hospitals can't refuse care to anyone based on their ability to pay. It's the equivalent to choosing not to have auto insurance, all the while being protected by a law mandating that body shops perform repairs in your car, despite your ability to pay, or to sue for lack of payment.

What I know is that I have always held a health insurance policy that has been paying for all the dead beats who refused to buy insurance for themselves.

completely up to the insurance company to determine how long a dependant is covered, you can't say 'most' or tell me that this protection was already in place across the board. lies.

it's a state thing. in virginia, you don't have to have liability insurance but if you don't you have to pay off the dmv every year. which is pointless.

This is just totally wrong. At a minimum Texas requires you to have liability insurance. Without it you can't renew your vehicle registration or get your car inspected. Without your vehicle registration or state inspection you can't legally drive your car.

In TX, if you don't have car insurance you have to either put some real state you own as bond or deposit $55,000 with the government.

As I said you are not forced.

I have an older GMC Truck, and I have not paid insurance on it for about 8 years now. I have numerous other vehicles that I use for work or daily driver.

But the GMC sit for the most part and I start it up and keep it looking good, but it does not have any insurance.....

Health Insurance is now forced by law that you have it...

You can skip homeowners insurance if you can pay for the home outright.

You can forgo life insurance if you have enough money to cover your survivors in the event of your untimely death.

You can only forgo car insurance if you also forgo driving. Most if not all States require at least liability insurance. And if you get an auto loan you will need full coverage.

Your arguments are specious and silly.

So that means that your GMC doesn't have a valid registration or state inspection. It is illegal for that truck to be used on the streets.
