Canada has the Loonie and the Toonie, we've got two years to come up with a name for this coin. It'll apparently be in circulation by 2017

I miss Canadian currency since I moved to US. Canada has colorful currency and they keep on changing.

US currency is same boring for at-least half a century.

Really!? I knew they were talking about it but this is the first that I saw the 5 dollar coin. I don't know, I prefer the bills since it's not as heavy and I have too many nickels and dimes for my liking.

I am like you, I miss having colorful money. I have to double check to make sure I am giving the right bill when I shop with cash.

I could live with a "Moonie", but I do agree that as we are getting rid of bills, it will be increasingly difficult to find pants with large enough (reinforced) pockets to carry Canadian coinage, let alone keeping said pants at the appropriate place on the body (we are having difficulty enough with our young men as it is...lol!). The change purse industry, however, will love us!

Moonie seems fine. I really REALLY miss loonies and twoonies. Giving people 1 dollar bills is so friggin annoying.

I like the colorful Canadian paper money, but not so much the coins. They're too heavy to be lugging around in your pants pocket.

From what I can tell this is an internet hoax, Thank god, because I'm not a pirate and don't have a treasure chest for all these stupid coins that weigh down my pants.
