Hello!

USCIS sent my approved I-130 to NVC on April 29th, till now I have NOT heard anything from the NVC. I was wondering if it matters that I use a hotmail instead of others, like gmail. Can NVC reach me via my hotmail account? Is there anyone who received emails from NVC through a hotmail account? Thank you for your response!!

They will contact you after assigning case number and invoice id. Of course you will receive a welcome letter along with instructions how to proceed further. It doesn't matter whether you use gmail or hotmail. they will inform you through email if you have given them your email address. NVC usually takes 30 to 60 days to assign case number after which they will contact you.

I agree with other posters do not wait for the letter. After a couple of weeks start calling the NVC to get your case number and invoice number . The NVC is open 7am to midnight eastern time Mon thru Fri

Best time to call is early in the morning right when they open or late at night right before they close

Hello! Thank you for your reply. I did get a welcome letter in the mail today. Excited! I of course went online and tired to choose an agent and pay the fees. However, after I entered my case number and invoice number, it came out this message "The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance. " Tried to call NVC, the line was busy all the time. Do you have any suggestions about how to fix this issue? Thank you!

Hi Tracy. It seems that any of us who received their case number etc. in the month of May is having exactly the same problem and same message. The only thing you can do is check online every day as calling the NVC becomes quite stressful and time consuming to be told they don't know when it will be fixed, which is fair enough to be honest as who can say for sure when something will start working again. I got my case number on the 7th May and have been trying to log on ever since. Time for patience I'm afraid.
