My wife and I recently get really discouraged. After filing on February 17th and doing Fingerprints on March 13th, and getting on RFE for initial evidence, none of our apps changed for a long time except the interview date which was today (more about that in a bit).

However on May 5th the application for the advance parole changed to "case was approved". Great, but the EAD did not change. Four days ago or so I checked the advance parole application again and it said "on May 11th you case was approved" even though that had already happened a week before. In the EAD application there was still no change.

Yesterday evening, the evening before today's interview I checked the employment application again and it had changed to "card in production", which was funny because it happened one day before the interview. A few hours later however it said" case was approved ". Isn't that weird ??? What should we think about this ??? :-(

Regarding the interview this morning, to make it short, we were pretty disappointed to not get approved right away. It was interesting to see that one of the officers basically approved every client, wishing them all the best, afterwards while we were waiting and our soon to be officer did not approve any of the clients before us.

The interview itself seemed to work fine, wet could answer every question nicely and correctly, she did not have to sperate us and

Seemed to accept every document we provided her with. (Insurance documents, lease, bank accounts documents) but did not seem very interested in our love story and any of our pictures. However, she seemed happy with every answer we gave.

When we were done she said that she won't approve us today but that everything seems fine to her and that unless she needs anything or finds anything crazy (her words) she will be finished in two to three weeks.

That was a complete shock to us as we had prepared for this interview really well and brought so much documentation that we thought we surely would get approved. Right now we are both very sad and frankly concerned. Do you think something could have been wrong with our background check and that is why it might take longer ? I have never committed any crime in neither my home country or the USA, nor did I do ANYTHING wrong ever (seriously).is there reason to be concerned ? Is there anything we can done ? We really am not sure how this could have happened and am very sad right.

All the best to you guys in the meantime

.

Are you serious ?! This is absolutely normal. You will get approved. The guy might just have to do some paperwork and go through your paperwork. at my interview I wasn't approved on the spot but my interviewer did tell me he was GOING TO approve my case either on Friday or over the weekend. ( had my interview Thursday afternoon. ). The approval noticed arrived 10 days later though. No need to worry , you WILL get approved.

I think this is normal! I had my AOD interview on Wednesday and I could hear 3 other interviews going on around us. Not one of them got approved on the spot but were told they would get informed of an update soon. Noone seemed unhappy.

We DID get approved on the spot but our circumstances are very different to most cases. We have not spent a day apart for the 6 years we have been together so there is just no way you can argue the legitimacy of our marriage.

Im sure you can celebrate now!!! You will be fine!
