I have looked at the USCIS web page which says they are currently processing applications received on or before July 17, 2006. But when I look at the VJ website and filter for my service center, California, I see tons of people who applied after July, including August, September, October and November that have received their NOA2. My application was received November 20, 2006, and I am seeing applications on VJ that were received after that that have already received their NOA2. When I talk to USCIS they say that the information on VJ can not be true because they are processing last July's applications. They tell me that there is no way the information on VJ website that is posted by individuals is true if the say they applied after July 17, 2006, and have already received their NOA2. I talked with my Congressman's office and they stated the same thing as USCIS. I am not upset about it but I am just looking for some clarification on the issue because I am new to everything and I guess I am just confused. Can anyone help me understand?

What you are seeing on the USCIS website is basically the oldest cases they are working on... CSC claims to be processing petitions from July (and they no doubt are processing some from then) so that they can just tell anyone who applied after that to go away if they call for an update or to find out what's taking so long.

But as you can see from the timelines here on VJ, the vast majority of people get approved much quicker than that - barring the odd error in people's timelines, the people on here who've posted their NOA1 and NOA2 dates on here aren't making it up! We sent our I-129F to NSC on October 25th (then got transferred to CSC), got our NOA1 on Nov 2nd, and our NOA2 on Jan 19th. Many people who filed in November have now been approved. You must have been talking to a spectacularly minsinformed individual at USCIS if they flat-out denied that anyone could have had their NOA2 yet if they'd applied later than July - many have got their visas, entered the US and married who applied since then, never mind received their NOA2s!!

With any luck your NOA2 shouldn't be far off either... good luck! :)

You will believe the VJ timelines when you receive your NOA2 in the next few days.

 I remember when I first started filling out the forms for the I129-F and at the time TSC was on maybe June 2006 receipt numbers and I thought my God I'll have to wait atleast 6 months until they get to me. Nevertheless, my case was forwarded to CSC on 11/3/06 and on 11/13 I received NOA1 and on 1/18/07 I received NOA2. My case is now at NVC.

Yeah... the site said they were on February or March when we were just about to apply - I'm SO glad I found VJ a few minutes later and discovered that that wasn't necessarily the case...

TRUST NO ONE!!!! Outside of VJ anyway.

Before I came to VJ, I tried so hard to get answers, advice, anything about what to do. Every person I talked to (and that was many) gave me a different answer. It was incredibly frustrating. It seemed like nobody cared or wanted to help.

VJ has put me on the right path, and I have access to all the Info I need to know. Info that I desperately searched for for several months!
