Thats sad. But isn't your wife the petitioner so she should be the first sponsor? and your father-in-law the joint sponsor ( 2nd sponsor).

If I may ask, when was your biometric appointment?

Got a request for evidance . 3 in fact. :( it says my joint sponsor doesn't meet the income (my wife) but we used her father as a sponsor (the first sponsor) . confused:(

Hi yeah I messed up on the sponsor . my wife should have been petitioner and my father in law should be the only joint sponsor. And my appointment was yesterday.

Hi everyone! Glad to recognize some of you! We filed for AOS/EAD/AP in late April and our NOA date was May 4th! Biometrics scheduled for May 26th in the Bronx.

More waiting and stress!!

i am in NY ,too. After you got RFE how soon the USCIS update the status?? I have sent back my RFE response by 6/4/2015, till now i didinot see any update from USCIS ,not even RFE RR

I see. The best thing to do now is to send whatever USCIS asked you to so process will continue.

I am also expecting, but hoping not, to receive RFE also for the Affidavit of Support.

Wife did biometrics today. She was there for about 30 minutes, and almost all that time was waiting. Not too bad.

Right. Petitioner should be main sponsor followed by whoever is the joint sponsor/s. :thumbs:

That's odd...the way we did it was my husband filled out the affidavit of support, then his dad filled one out too and ticked the joint sponsor box, then they both signed an additional document agreeing they would co-sponsor me. Did you do this too?

I think you will see a 'Request for Evidence' status update first. Then you have to wait for the RFE letter in the mail with details of their request.

Then upon receipt of your response to the RFE, status update should be 'Request for Evidence Response Review'

Hello fellow NYer! We got our RFE on 5/22 but haven't sent the response back yet as it's a more involved RFE, so we have an infopass appointment on Tuesday in NYC to hopefully sort it out (fingers crossed for us please!) I would assume that once they receive the RFE your USCIS status will update (which happened for us when we got an RFE when waiting for the i-129F approval). But since you sent it on the 4th, I would wait at least a week or two before you see any update on the site.

RFE for not meeting poverty line which is not right because I do exceed it. I am self employed and have to hunt for why the RFE now. Just peachy !

No update before or after the RFE was received.


Because I called after RFE sent for expedite EAD. Online shows " expedire request is on hold bc we request your case file"

Is this mean they did not get my RFE or there are different officers processing this since no RFE Response review, EAD expedite is on hold???

EAD is on hold until the RFE issue is resolved.

Renewal EAD in production notification text and online, expedite successful 4 days after RFE request response was faxed, Aug25mailed,Aug29received.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

so even they got my RFE they still need to looked into it and issue EAD?
