Hello there,

We sent our package to the NVC on March 19th but unfortunately my birth certificate wasn't the correct version (the inextensa one) and we had to send it again. NVC received my birth certificate on April 16th.

We have not heard from them yet, and I am desperate! I call everyday but they don't give me any updates. One representative says it could take 45 days from the date they received the last document, another one says 30 days, and another 60 days.

Does the count really starts over?

Anyone has an idea as of when our case can be complete? We need an interview date asap!

Thank you Visa Journey family.

Hello there. I was checklisted on 12/31 and my response came on March 9th. I was quoted 60 days for a response and it was exactly 60. But I heard that the turn around for NVC has shortened to 30 to 45 days. I didn't call that much because it just frustrated me more. When you least expect it you will receive the e-mail.

Welcome to the forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Welcome!!..It's amazing how much we have in common. On 03/20/15 we sent our package to NVC. On 04/15/15 we received a checklist regarding our marriage certificate (They say its issued by the incorrect authority and the seal is "suspicious", which makes no sense because my husbands birth certificate is issued by the same authority and has the same seal that issued our marriage certificate, and no checklist for the birth certificate), missing court documents (Which we sent!),and an error on our AOS part 6 question 5 (which i admit was blank). Overall, I resent our marriage certificate, this time the original not a certify copy, all original documents regarding court case, and fixed and updated AOS. We got a new scan date 04/17. I called on 04/29 regarding case updates, a very nice rep informed me that our package was received into NVC and was also scanned into the system, she told me to allow 30 days. I know it is confusing and at the same time frustrating because each time you call, you get a different answer. Be patient, be positive, have hope that soon we will too get a case complete. If anything I'am here if you need some help, venting, or ranting with this awful roller coaster ride.

Thank you so much! This long/annoying waiting process feels like an eternity.

We are still waiting. Have not heard anything from NVC yet. You?

Nothing at all. I haven't called since 04/29 when they informed me to wait 30 days, & honestly i wont call back either. I have decided to just give the whole calling NVC, checking the ceac website, and finding out about the case a break. This process can truly test your limits, and my limits are reached. Maybe if i let things go,they'll solve on their own and hopefully i'll get a CC soon.
