hi Everyone

in preparation for my interview coming up soon i have just been been going through the list of possible interview questions

like how do you answer the " Why did you decide to get married in the US?" or "Why didnt you get married in your home country?"

i mean my fiance and i didnt consciously decide we prefer getting married in the US..we just thought it was the most logical thing to do to avoid being separated longer. Would that be a suitable answer do you think?

01/15/2016: GREENCARD IN HAND!! DONE FOR NOW!!!

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

That is absolutely fine, I think a lot of people would respond like that. Personally that's pretty much what I am going with if I get that question. "I thought it would be faster..."

Another perfectly acceptable answer would be that you didn't want to be separated after you were married, so you filed for a K1 visa. To satisfy the requirements, they know you had no option.

I don't think it's an issue. If they ask me this question I'm just going to tell them that the weather in Scotland is atrocious.
