I agree with you Becca! I *try* not to sound negative with my posts, because I know at the end of the day all the SCs are just doing their jobs. It's just hard when we have so much invested (emotion, time, money). It's really hard to think of how things are on their end, when all we care about is the outcome of our process. I don't even think it's so much the SCs that are the problem...but the guidelines that are set by the government. As mentioned in the earlier post...this whole process really could probably take place at the consulate since they go through everything again (well, they're supposed to lol) and ultimately make the decision anyway. I just think it's a lot of extra steps that have to be taken for something that's decided so quickly. But, what can we do? haha, I just know that all of this is going to be worth it, so in the mean time, I *try* to wait patiently...and by wait patiently...I actually mean: check USCIS 30 times a day haha!

I try not to bash CSC or TSC for this reason... I'm sure that they are working very hard at their jobs at processing ALL visas and not just K-1s! There are so many applicants who are not on VJ and now ALL of them are going to CSC.

But, here's to a new week I've started to enjoy Mondays knowing that I have a full 5 business days ahead of me to check for our NOA2 . And Happy Birthday to everyone who is celebrating this week, hopefully there will be even more reasons to celebrate

Very interesting, ASDF. Wow, I would have thought it a much higher percentage than that. My guess, too, is that there is a much higher percentage of RFEs issued for those who do NOT use this website. Thanks for the info.

Also, My Birthday is May too !! May 1st. But I didn't just turn 30, LOL........ I wish !!!

LOL! I randomly thought of the officers this morning, and then compared it to how I feel every Monday morning...haha. So in the case of the officers, it must be something like.. "meh..another 95434573485 petitions that I have to go through today. Monday mornings suck!"

That's pretty funny, Myrie. I needed a laugh. And yeah, I just started thinking that way about Mondays.... a whole five days to hope that we get our NOA-2. I used to love Fridays and the weekend. Now I love Mondays .............. Go figure !!!

Hello April filers.

My fiance just called the customer service rep this morning to make a follow up regarding the NOA2 and to ask why there is an error or the receipt is not recognized everytime we checked the status online .

One Customer service rep said it takes 5 months to process the NOA2 by the California Service Center before it will proceed to NVC. So my fiance called up again and talk to the second customer service rep. He said that the it takes months to process for the NOA2 but he didnt give specific number of months. Regarding the unrecognized receipt number the customer service rep said we need to check it again after 45 days as sometimes it takes 45 days to be recognized in the system.

But im still positive about this NOA2 that we will get this week.

woohoo! CSC currently processing NOA1 dates of 4/16/15! Fingers crossed to a productive week for them!

if you click on immigration timelines at the top of the page, you'll see it on the right/middleish side of the page. p.s. CSC has their time listed on the USCIS website as 5 months, but people have been getting their NOA2s in 4-6 weeks. the error message you're receiving is normal and won't go away until a decision has been made (either an RFE or an approval). so, no point in calling customer service because all they can tell you is the 5 month thing because there's no guarantees. good luck!

I have a question regarding the affidavit of support and tax return. How much do you need to make to qualify? Do I need a sponsor?

My problem is I only work part time. But I own my home with no mortgage, no debt and receive child support. Can I use the child support as part of my income to qualify?

And regarding the tax return. I had to file my taxes with the ex husband this year because we got divorced last year. Do I send them that copy?

I'm so confused. Thanks for any info

The sponsor must have sufficient income or assets to indicate that he is financially able to support the Fiancée or Spouse in order to prevent her from becoming a ward of the state. The sponsor’s annual income based on the number of dependents his combined household will have, should be at least 100%(Fiancee) or 125% (Spouse) of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) poverty guideline for his state. As of March 2015, for residents in the continental US the Financial Eligibility Thresholds for K1, CR-1 or Green Card are as follows.

Required Annual Income (For Fiancee Visa)

$15,930, if 2 Persons in Family or Household

$20,090, if 3 Persons in Family or Household

$24,250, if 4 Persons in Family or Household

For each Additional person add $4,160

And Yes you can use child support as part of your income

How to prove your Income.

The way to demonstrate his income, the US sponsor

normally provides his most recent Federal Tax Return,

3 to 6 pay stubs showing 'Year to date' earnings,

plus a letter from his employer confirming his

job, and what the annual pay is.

I would also suggest getting a notarized letter from your ex stating how much he pays a month in child support

Posting again to update you all on the NVC process. The CEAC tracker is still down, and I can't get through to NVC to ask about it. I must have been lucky when my call got through last week. I've decided to just focus on packet 3. Everyone should take advantage of the regional VJ forums and ask for packet 3 for their specific embassy/consulate.

Thank you for the update. We are coming up to the 2 weeks wait( VJ recommended) after NOA2 in regards to calling the NVC.

What I have read is that NVC being the "halfway point" for applications for K1, is that with the case number they will then prepare the document in the way that your specific consulate prefers it. this usually happens in 3 to 4 days, they then send it off. So I would think that your case should be on its way to the consulate already if not very soon. But again, without the CEAC website working, there is no way to be sure.

We are doing the same in regards to just preparing Packet 3 in the mean time.

If so then the above is correct, if not then ( see in red) is the correct if not in the armed forces, this is according to the HHS poverty guidelines published 1 March 2015.
