I've waited a year for this day, and the weather may not let it happen.

Alright, they are predicting 1" of ice with 6-12" of snow on top for Indy starting around 7pm tonight.

Craig's plane lands at 6:40pm.

Please, Mother Nature, wasn't the immigration process enough? You don't really need to throw in an ice storm on the day he's moving, do you?

*shakes nervously*

Oh wow.

That's not good. I remember being worried about the last vacation my fiancee and I took together in December/January (in which we went to Canada and then to Texas -- all together, we spent two weeks having a blast!) regarding the weather, but things turned out okay. Of course, there wasn't this ice storm craziness going on either.

I don't know what to tell you, Cass. I hope everything works out. Even if his plane does get delayed or cancelled due to the weather, the airline should put him on another flight. It may not be the best flight, but he'll get there...you can bet on that.

Which airline is he flying with anyway? That might make a difference, and does he have a connection to make or is it a straight-shot?

Air Canada, he's flying into Toronto at 2:30ish, and then onto Indy after that.

See, this storm is supposed to last all day tomorrow, so if he gets stuck in Toronto, he's going to be there for a few days.

But positive thoughts! They said on the news that it might not even start until as late as 10pm, which, by then I throughly plan on being on the couch snuggling warmly with my Canadian.

Cass, I don't know which weather websites you've been checking out but here's a good one called AccuWeather. Just type in the name of the city and state or city and province (or you can use zip code or postal code) and it'll report the forecast -- even up to 15 days ahead of time, but I don't think you'll need that. It also has an option to report the "airport weather" as well, which might be useful in your situation.

So maybe that'll be helpful. Maybe it won't. I don't know. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do except be hopeful and keep a positive outlook. :)

Haha, are you serious?

Of course it matters when. Do I want him to be safe, yes, very much so. And I would never want them to put that in danger. But it DOES matter when.

It matters when in the sense that you want it to be soon, and safely. I think what Augustajim meant is that they will get him there eventually - even if its a day late to make sure the conditions are safe for travel.

I think usually the weather guys are usually a few hours ahead (behind?) - they say it will start at 5, it doesn't start until 9, etc... You should be fine. I'm thinking good thoughts that he'll land WELL ahead of the snow and ice!!

It may be just me, I think I would be more worried about the ground traffic than the plane making it there. There should no problem with or at the airports as it would hours after the storm started before the planes were diverted or even held back at thier departure points. Your honey is on his way and will be there with you sitting on that couch without a worry in the world and your anxiety will have ben for naught. Congratulation to both of you I'm glad to see another couple united.

Nah, I have a sister that lives right next to the airport, so if we need shelter, I have an easy place to go. Also, I'm leaving to pick him up early, so I should be at the airport before any of it starts.

I just! Want him here!!!
