I-130 documents for support

Hi:

I will submit the form I-130 for the petition of my wife that lives in Colombia, we have been married only for a month.

Can you please advice me if with the following documents would be enough for proof of marriage:

- Phone call records from google voice

- Marriage Certificate

- 30 pictures of my visit in December 2014 and our civil wedding in March 2015

- Itinerary of my trip to Colombia in December and the one in march

- Itinerary of our honeymoon that is going to be in August this year.

- Copy of her birth certificate.

- Receipts of gifts I sent her last year and this year.

Also, we are getting a church wedding in August 2015, do I need to add something about that wedding or just wait until she has the interview to show that?

OP, the only "proof" of marriage that you submit is the marriage certificate; everything else is evidence. With that being said, skip her birth certificate, it won't be required until a later phase. Skip the gift receipts too, they only establish that you bought the items, nothing else. Focus on evidence of time spent together in-person, that is your strongest evidence.

The church wedding in August 2015 is irrelevant at this point. While pictures of it can and should be brought to the interview, it may not even come up at that time.

I disagree with the poster who said hold it until the interview. If you want to ensure something is viewed by a CO, it needs to be in the file before an interview takes place. If you wait for the interview, the CO may not ask to see any of your evidence and it may be passed back without so much as a fleeting glance by the CO if you try to pass it across unsolicited.

Marriage certificate, pictures of the two of you, as well as pics with family, chat logs, texts\emails, gifts sent to each other, flight itineraries, boarding passes, hotel bills with both names, etc.

If you communicated before marriage, as well as engagement pics, receipts of ring purchases, etc send that evidence if available.

Future plans are irrelevant; they don't show proof of relationship. Since you are newly married, try to present as much evidence that you two are in a genuine marriage.

Proof of your Bona-Fide Marriage, per the i-130 guidelines suggest the following:

Share of joint residency

Share of joint accounts

affidavit of sworn statements ( testifying that your marriage was in fact true and for love )

Proof of ongoing marriage

Marriage Certificate

financial support

pictures

For me, I included every tiny thing that applied. This included sworn statements and like someone else mentioned ( dont forget your official translation if not already in English ).

To answer your question: yes you included enough things. ( 30 pictures was probably a bit much ). But also try to attach more concrete things similar to the gift receipts which are trackable. Such as affidavits of sworn statements from those who attended the ceremony. Phone records are good also.
