Timeline

We got confirmation of the interview today. It's July 27th, and we submitted our readiness June 26th. I did read that London does try to accomodate if you have a wedding date on your form. Since our wedding is Sept 12 I wonder if that had to do with getting a sooner date.

I put August the 10th. So I'm not sure the date thing worked if you are sept! There must be something a bit random!

The only difference I can see is the medical dates. Perhaps they waited until they had the medical results to assign an interview?

Nothing about this process makes sense. I just received my NVC letter with case number today, it was dated July 1. I got my case number from them on June 9th lol - the case has been in London almost a month. Soooooo efficient.

Of course they do. They tell you on the website no interview will be assigned until medical results are received. I think Rob got lucky. They saw he had an August wedding and were able to slot him in to something that had opened up.

NVC have never sent their letters out in a timely manner. Most hear from London (with their delays) sooner than NVC.

Yeah, Kas received his Packet 3 letter a day before I received the NVC letter. AND that was about 2 1/2---3 weeks after we got the case number from NVC.

You're getting to the fun part ...not actually fun, but there's more things to do and check on more often. And more small steps to fret over if you're like the rest. I suggest keep your sanity and just let it play out, but nobody ever listens to me :P

I'll certainly try to do that. I'm just a little eager to be as on point as I can be for these next steps in the hope that my little boy will get to see his daddy a lot sooner than expected. I literally have all my documents ready to go; just waiting until we get our LND case number and off I go :D still relieved to be even at this point. So we're definitely enjoying it so far! Haha.

There's no status check for interview date online. Have you submitted both the DS-160 and the readiness form as well?

By default you get a letter in the mail. You can use this form to enquire: http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html"I wish to know the status..." include the LND number. Average interview assigned date is around 4 weeks.

We still have not received the letter for the interview. Our lawyer was able to confirm the date with the embassy as it is scheduled for next Monday, July 27th. Our dates are in my signature for when we submitted everything - according to the embassy they mailed our letter out on July 8th, but neither Michael nor our Lawyers have received a copy as of today. I also have not received a response to my two inquiries I followed online.

I was able to get the interview date by calling the NVC and asking if they could see a interview date assigned to our case. The lady did not want to tell me but after persisiting she did give me the date. You could always try to see if they will tell you. If I had waited the 6 weeks, which is when our Lawyer was also going to follow up, that would have been August 6th which is almost 2 weeks after the interview date assigned.

No harm emailing them through the link that I sent. Takes about 5 working days for a reply, why not do that now and keep trying NVC in meantime.

Getting through to NVC is not always easy. Embassy say 6 weeks estimation, average is probably 4-6.

If you don't get the letter before the interview that's OK as the will have your name on the list anyway.

Our lawyer is including the confirmation email they received from the embassy in the packet they are sending Michael to take to the interview, so he will use that if the letter never shows up.
