Wonder when the other two filled in the form, probably Monday too, when Natonstan was approved. We have figured out approvals are probably done in blocks, the next time for approvals is probably going to be 12.30 today, so fingers crossed!!

I was reading over the email that I received from Ombudsman when I submitted it and it says towards the bottom if they are able to help you receive correspondence within 45 days. It also says if they are unable to assist they notify you promptly. A lot of us submitted on Monday after Natonstan's approval. It must be a good sign that they have not notified any of us back about not being able to help.

Everyone's says Nebraska I think, mine does, but its never been there thats an error. It is either at NBC in Missouri or at a local field office somewhere, wherever has capacity. Depending on how long you have been waiting I would advise you to contact the OMBUDSMAN!!

I bet people hardly use Ombudsman, and they are just seeing an influx of submissions now with all of us doing it primarily on the same day. I actually thought about doing Ombudsman a few months ago in January, but I figured nothing good would come out of it. Boy was I wrong. This has to raise red flags somewhere in Ombudsman or USCIS.

This is what I think and I may be wrong, but perhaps because you were still in your local field office processing time, then they couldnt do much, even though we know the local field office time doesn't mean much, they probably use that as a tool? Perhaps? Just a thought!

What is weird, is just before your approval we were talking about salt and vinegar crisps and the OMBUDSMAN. What made you mention them that day, are you psychic or did you get an email just before approval?

I got an email, if I remember right I mentioned that I got the email and that I completely forgot that I'd even contacted Ombudsman because it was so long ago, then a couple of hours later I go the Approval! The best thing about it is I got ANOTHER email from Ombudsman after approval telling me they were currently looking into my case, then yet another a few hours later saying they see it was approved, I'll copy them word for word, might be helpful to people, hold on one second

That is what happened to the first approval today, they got an email and not a minute later an approval. Which basically tells us YES it is the OMBUDSMAN who got the cases approved!! No more second guessing! Way to go OMBUDSMAN!

Hi Shell! I just checked my email and I actually contacted the Ombudsman twice, January 20th and March 16th. When they replied to me yesterday, they used the Jan. 20th submission number instead of my March 16th inquiry.

Wonder when the other two filled in the form, probably Monday too, when Natonstan was approved. We have figured out approvals are probably done in blocks, the next time for approvals is probably going to be 12.30 today, so fingers crossed!!

March 16th 2015: 10:04AM I got this email:

Good afternoon,

The Ombudsman's Office has reviewed your submission and contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regarding your case.

Please be advised that in certain cases, it may take up to 60 days to receive a response to our inquiry. We will notify you when we receive information from USCIS.

If your circumstances have changed substantially, you may contact us at cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov and reference your unique submission number 2XXXXX3.

Sincerely,

Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

My application was then approved

Then on the 17th at 12:58PM I received:

Dear Sir,

USCIS has indicated that it is actively reviewing the application or petition referenced in your inquiry and should issue a decision in this case within 30 days.

Please inform the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV if you do not receive correspondence from USCIS within 45 days. Because USCIS has taken action, our office will be closing this matter.

Thank you for giving the Ombudsman’s Office the opportunity to assist you.

Then an hour later on the 17th at 1:36PM I got:

This message serves as an update to the email sent by the Ombudsman’s Office earlier today, March 17, 2015. USCIS has indicated that it recently issued a decision regarding the application or petition referenced in your request for assistance. If you do not receive the decision notice within 15 days, please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283.
