Received the results from my medical (round 2) yesterday, and all is good. Just mailed it off with my RFE response today, so now the wait can continue its course :P

There will be a day..

May I ask what a medical the 2nd time around constitutes? I am just shaking my head, wondering why they would want a 2nd one and what contagious disease they think we may have picked up in the USA! Just not right, my cat wouldn't need as much to come over here, just a rabies and flu jab, we don't have rabies in the UK.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

USA citizen as of 25th of July 2018. :)

I sincerely hope not!!! I wonder about the K2 situation also. Our K2 got the NPIW letter, whereas my husband did not. I've also seen where the K2 gets his or her GC when the K1 spouse waits longer. It's a mystery for sure.

Right?? And it's not like the K1 spouse didn't have a medical already to be allowed in the country in the first place. What do they think, that they have now contracted something that makes them ineligible to live here? Uh, if so, they got whatever illness while here! And the same applies for background checks. total bs. They have extensive enough checks BEFORE coming here. IF some crime was committed while here, they'd already be in jail/deported. If we have to endure the NPIW nightmare, then make it for a legit reason. Not just a random pile thrown to the side marked "NPIW" where you leave them be until a year is up. Actually determine (like stated in the letter) that there's good cause to waive the interview. So annoying.

Amen to that one. We aren't cattle after all!

I wonder if they think it's right to do this? It doesn't give a great welcome impression of the USA. In fact its cringe worthy and I know a few of our American spouses are embarrassed by the way they have and continue to treat us.

Yeah, it's a bit crazy considering I haven't left the country since I entered. Gotta play by the game master's rules I guess..

The second time around consisted of an immigration physical exam (just regular check-up really), a blood test for syphilis, a TB skin test (no x-ray needed since test was negative), and a look at your vaccination record to make sure you're still up to par on your vaccines. I actually needed my tetanus shot again, so good for another 10 years.

Why would they want another blood test for syphillis? Do they think that we would suddenly contract it after having a test with the original medical? Which would then mean they thought we slept around, which I find rather insulting. TB skin test when we have already had out TB jab? Doesnt make any sense. I hope they don't check our genital parts again. I am a woman and remain one, not suddenly sprouted anything since my last medical! )

The syphilis test (RPR) is a vestige of a bygone day to pick up secondary and early tertiary syphillis. With penicillin, this dramatically fell. Most states no longer require it for a marriage licence anymore. Though they still do it in an induction physical for the military...it is a low yield test that really isn't worth it anymore. The Al Capone days are over. Someone needs to tell USCIS...
