Money order for I-485

Hi guys,

Quick question,

I told my husband he should take money order for form I-485 amount of $1070 and he got

$1000 + $70 is that OK? Or should i have $985 + $85?

You should make the check for $1,070

Its not a check its money order... And money order you can not have more then 1000???

I just sent my AOS, EAD & AP packet yesterday, , and I did the same thing.. Two money orders, a $1000 and $70.. A money order is not valid for over $1000.

I just put a memo on my money order and stapled both. I think there's nothing wrong sending two money orders as long as it sum up the right amount for application.

I was asking because i can go and change the money orders. Instead of 1000 + 70 i can do 985 + 85.

I decided not to risk it i'm going to take my money from the money orders back and will send 2 checks.

1 for $420

and

1 for $1070

That should be OK

I sent my packet last week with money orders $1000 + $70 and $420, I got the emails and texts with my receipt numbers yesterday so I would say there is no problem in sending more than one money order as long as total amount sums up correctly. Good luck.

But,

I gave the money orders back and got to checks...

Now we now its not a problem at all... So it will be helpful for others.
