I signed the I-134 and notarized it last December. My fiance is about to schedule the interview in late April. By that time, the I-134 form will be 4 months old.

Would that be OK?

Also, i had my employment verification letter, bank statement ready 3 months ago. Would that be too old? The instruction document never mention about how recent those financial support evidence should be. Just wondering if anyone has any experience on this.

Any hiccup in the interview over this can cost you 2+ of weeks of delay

when you factor in the time it takes for you to express mail it to her,

and for her to express mail it to embassy, and for them to process it.

If I were you, I would spend $50 now, and do a freshly dated and signed

documents and FedEx them to your fiance(e).

I recall that up to 1/2 pound to FedEx from Houston to Shanghai was

just below $50.

Just because her interview is in April, don't think that you can send it

via regular USPS airmail. I sent a card to my fiancee, and it took about 10 weeks.

I think it got lost at some point...and then somehow recovered later.

We had given up on it. But FedEx arrived literally within one hour of

their guaranteed delivery time.

In the Express packet, only send the documents that you have to date and sign,

and other original documents such as final divorce decree (if applicable).

And then get latest statements from bank, employment verification letter, pay stubs, etc.

and scan these into a PDF file and send to her via email and have her print it over there (to save cost).

Trust me...this will be well spent $50 in this processing

for not having to worry about it for the next few weeks...leading to the interview.

I think you should do a new I-134. And I'd send more recent supporting documentation (pay stubs, 2014 tax return transcript if you've filed yet, etc) via e-mail. 3 months itself is quite a gap, a lot can happen in those 3 months...

You will likely need an updated I-134 along with updated documents to go with it.

wait - late april, you say? after 15 of april?

if yes,

suggest a new set of tax stuff for 2014, income stuff for 2015,

as a tax year, officially, has passed. IMO, they will use the new tax year and declare yer 'current' income proof outdated on interview day. Sure, it means a new employer letter, new bank letter, and 2014 income tax proof.

Hand carry it into the appointment, give over to the doc screener or Vice-Consul doing the interview, clearly state - This is updated I-134.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !
