USC getting filipino step-daughter to the US

Hi everybody good day to all, just wanted to know how to bring my step-daughter here from the Philippines, i married her mother in the philippines in dec 2013 get got her here 2 weeks ago now wondering how to bring her 14 yr old daughter here the easiest way thanks for sharing your thoughts

You should have filed for them the same time.

You need to file i130 for her. Process is almost the same as your wife's. Waiting time more or less a year.

You could petition the child as your step child being the US Citizen parent. Process should be fairly fast and steady.

Current cut off date F2A - Current 

Brother's Journey (F2A) - PD Dec 30, 2010


Dec 30 2010 - Notice of Action 1 (NOA1)
May 12 2011 - Notice of Action 2 (NOA2)
May 23 2011 - NVC case # Assigned
Nov 17 2011 - COA / I-864 received
Nov 18 2011 - Sent COA
Apr 30 2012 - Pay AOS fee

Oct 15 2012 - Pay IV fee
Oct 25 2012 - Sent AOS/IV Package

Oct 29 2012 - Pkg Delivered
Dec 24 2012 - Case Complete

May 17 2013 - Interview-Approved

July 19 2013 - Enter the USA

Either you or your wife is able to petition your child......The visa application will fall under the IR-2 category.

We are currently in the same process.....pretty much the same procedure as petitioning your wife with a few exceptions.

Some consulate specific differences for petitioning for a 14 year old child.....

If LPR wife files, the child will be under the F2A category which is slower compared to a USC step-parent petition. ;)
