Dont wait for the letter. Call the NVC and get your MNL# then you can schedule your interview and get your Medical done. it can take a while to get the letter if you even get one at all.

According to the Embassy website they do not send out letters. You need your MNL number from NVC. Follow Hank's excellent guide for Manila here. It explains all details you need to follow.

http://visaconnection-philippines.com/

keep calling NVC often, early morning or late at night works best. I tried 57 times before got through.

I did get a letter from NVC yesterday stating my Visa was on the way to Manila Embassy but actually My application package was in Manila the day it was sent.

Follow Hank's guide and you will be fine.

Good Luck

yes call the NVC. you will most likely be calling NVC more then once. As far as the letter , if you get one it will be very late and you will have wasted a lot of time waiting on the letter. My petition was approve dec 7 th . I call nvc ,got my case and invoice number. I submitted my documents Feb 5th . yesterday my wife told me she got the welcome letter in the mail from the NVC listing stuff to do. that would of been lot of extra waiting time for me and my wife, if we would of waited for the letter. Before we proceeded with the next steps

My wife has been here for 8 months now, and we have yet to receive this letter. Don't wait for it, as you definitely don't need it. All you need is your MNL number.

I know getting through to the NVC on the phone is torture. Just keep trying and you will succeed. The busy signal you hear is because others like you succeeded in getting through. And so will you.

Once you have the MNL number, you pay the interview fee at any branch of BPI located in the Philippines. That will generate a receipt number. Now with both of those numbers in hand, you can go to the USEM web site and sign up for an interview.

This is of course a very rough outline. The cites the other members posted in this thread is where you find the specifics.

Good luck to you.

All we got from NVC was one single letter with the MNL number and an instruction to wait for the embassy letter (the one I am everyone else here is telling you to not wait for).

Instead of waiting like the letter advised, I proceeded as we advised you to do so here. And it worked, so I can tell you for a fact that it is the way to go.

Everything else in a so-called NVC package would be the entire file that the NVC will send to the embassy. That takes about 4 weeks from the date you receive your NVC letter. But don't let that slow you down. Go to BPI and pay the fee. Go on the embassy website and sign up for the interview. And then immediately start working on gathering documents. Start the document collection process at once as some of them take weeks to get.
