Booking Wedding After NOA1 - Bad Idea?

Hey all,

My fiance is from Poland and we're debating whether or not to book the wedding after our NOA2 which we expect in April/May (we have an end of Sept. NOA1) or wait until the final visa in hand (probably May/June). Warsaw is one of the easier embassies to go through and you can get an appointment quickly. At the moment they report you can get a K1 interview same week even.

So basically, do you think it would be a bad idea to schedule the wedding after the NOA2 rather than waiting for the final visa? We'd like the wedding at the end of August/early Sept.

The risk after NOA-2 should be smaller, but not nil.

There are things that can go wrong after NOA-2 - low probability, but that doesn't mean anything if it happens to you.

The file could get misrouted in transfer to the NVC, for example - that has added 3+ months to peoples timelines. The embassy could request additional documents or your fiance could be placed in administrative processing for an unknown amount of time. Again, unlikely, but only you guys can decide if you wanna take the risk.

K1 time line

It's ok to think about what dates you'd like for your wedding & start planning, but don't make any official plans until you/your fiancé has the visa in their hands. Therefore, way too much can go wrong to jeopardize your wedding plans and you guys can go all the way to the interview and get a denial so just think about your wedding, but don't book anything until that visa is in hand.. Good luck!

You are very optimiste being at tsc and wait to get noa2 on april or may.

another thing you can plan the wedding but dont book anything, you dont know what it will happen after noa2.

You can get approved at the interview very easy but your case can go to administrative processing .

Administrative procesding can be weeks, months or years.

So best choice book wedding after visa in hand.

I was approved in my interview, they took my passport , i paid the delivery service and i have 11 months in administrative processing.
